This takes place during TPOT

Tree finally got a break from the challenges. He had gotten a bit exhausted from trying to prevent so much death. So he decided to relax in the hotel while Two prepared for the next challenge.

"Nothing like a day off..." Tree muttered. His team was leaving him alone, no one else was talking to him. It was perfectly quiet, just how he-

"Tree, Pillow is trying to kill her team again." Black Hole came in, and told Tree. Tree sighed, and got up. They then rushed out of the hotel, and went over to Pillow.

"Hey Tree! Hey Black Hole!" Pillow cheerily greeted them, as they immediately stopped the conflict.

"Don't kill your team." Tree sternly said, before Pillow sighed, and walked away.

"I'm actually surprised that worked." Black Hole then commented, and Tree nodded.

"It's about how you speak to people. If you're forceful enough, you can get even the most stubborn people to fold." Tree explained to Black Hole. The truth was, Tree mainly used his soft voice because he didn't want to come off that way. He especially used it around Black Hole. He didn't want to be disrespectful... no, that wasn't it. He had some sort of admiration for Black Hole. For how easily he prevented death.

"Uhm... you've been staring at me for a moment now." Black Hole said awkwardly, before Tree shook his head.

He then said, "Sorry, I zoned out." They started to head back to the hotel, when Tree asked Black Hole, "Uhm... Black Hole? What's your... sexuality?" Tree then asked him, starting to get nervous.

"I'm pan. Why?" Black Hole replied casually, not noticing Tree's building nerves.

Tree took a deep breath, before explaining, "I've.. uhm... been questioning myself lately. I know me and Bottle used to date. But... I've started to been wondering if I also like guys." Tree blushed a bit from embarrassment, assuming Black Hole would react negatively.

Black Hole moved closer to Tree, and replied, "That's perfectly fine Tree. It's normal to question yourself sometimes. I'll be here for you every step of the way, though. We're a team, and teammates always help each other out." Black Hole... looked over at Tree, and saw Tree was looking down at the ground. Black Hole could see very well that Tree was serious about this topic.

"Thank you Black Hole. I don't... really have anyone else to talk to about this." Tree then told Black Hole. It's not that Tree didn't have friends. He had plenty. He just didn't really have anyone who was in the same situation that he was in. "It's just.. every time I think about this one guy, my face warms up, and my heart skips a beat. I've never felt this way about anyone else before, and it worried me..." Tree explained his situation, and Black Hole instantly knew what was happening.

"Well, maybe I can help you understand these feelings a bit more." Black Hole replied. Tree liked him. Even if Tree didn't knew that he knew, he made it obvious. "Tell me about this guy." Black Hole then asked, and Tree cleared his throat.

"He's uhm... he's..." Tree trailed off. This was the first time someone had ever seen Tree let down his guard like this. He was used to being the calm and cool one of the team. But realizing his feelings for Black Hole stripped that all away.

"I know what you're feeling, Tree. I know you like me." Black Hole admitted, which sent Tree's head spinning. He blushed a bit, while Black Hole floated there, waiting for a response from Tree.

Tree waited for a moment, before telling Black Hole, "I... do like you. Your personality, and the way you behave. I like it all..." Tree blushed more, before turning away. He didn't want Black Hole to see him be vulnerable like this. But he didn't really have a choice.

"Well. Maybe we can see where things go between us." Black Hole told Tree. Black Hole was also interested in Tree. Maybe not enough to instantly accept a relationship, but he wanted to try things out with Tree. See if they fit well together.

They spent a lot of the day in the hotel, no matter what room it was. Between getting food from the kitchen, hanging out in the lobby, or relaxing in a bedroom, they were hanging out all day.

"You know, I'm glad that you didn't immediately reject me. You're just about the only guy I trust here." Tree chuckled, secretly nervous that Black Hole might just leave at any moment.

"Why would I do that? You're really nice. I wouldn't just reject you over your feelings." Black Hole reaffirmed him, before getting as close as he possibly could without sucking up Tree.

"You're really nice, Black Hole. I... love you." Tree told him. smiling softly at Black Hole. Black Hole was the one person he was comfortable enough with to reveal things like that.

"...I love you too." Black Hole said after a moment of thinking. Tree blushed brightly after hearing that, and they sat next to each other for a while.

"Thank you so much for taking a chance on us." Tree said softly, as Black Hole did what he could to nod. The two of them would end up spending the whole day with each other, as they became boyfriends at the end of the day. The day had started them off as friends, and now they were so much more. And it was all thanks to Tree deciding to open up and be vulnerable, instead of only showing the cold exterior. And that was the side of him Black Hole loved the most.
