Sometimes, it just takes the little things in life to bring two people closer. Like hanging out at the park one day. Tree always had quite a... fondness for Marker. And this was the place where they'd get to hang out the most. Marker loved to dig holes, so Tree, although not the most physical person, would choose to help him out.

"You never told me what your obsession with digging holes was." Tree commented, as the two of them, along with a trusty shovel, worked at the loose dirt.

"Oh, well... I just love digging! I've always found just getting deeper at something is the best. I'm also really into dinosaurs and paleontology, and I heard that before this park was built, they found some dino bones in this area!" Marker explained himself, as he sat down on the ground for a moment to catch a break.

"...really? I never knew that. I don't know a whole lot about dinosaurs, but that sounds like a nice hobby." Tree sat down next to him, as he pulled out his phone.

"Did you know the Sauroposeidos... I think that's how it's said, was the biggest dinosaur ever? It's as big as some office buildings are." Marker began to list off a few dinosaur facts, as Tree began, without Marker's knowledge, booking a trip to the nearest dinosaur museum.

"No, no, I didn't know that. But that's pretty darn tall." Tree responded, before putting his phone away again. "Though what I do know is that next weekend, you and I should head over to the Goiky Museum of Fossils." Tree then asked, with a small smile.

Marker let out a small gasp, before standing up and pacing around a little, clearly getting excited. "I've always wanted to go there! I never wanted to go by myself though, so it'd be amazing if you could take me!"

"Cool, so it's a date." Tree giggled a little seeing Marker's reaction, as he then continued, "Well I have to get back to work, my lunch break's over. But I'll see you then, little guy." Tree waved as he went back to his car.

The next weekend, the two of them found themselves in the largest fossil museum in the area. Tree didn't exactly have any knowledge on the topic, but Marker seemed nearly obsessed with dinosaurs.

"...and so that's how this one was able to become one of the top predators of it's time." Marker finished up, as the two of them looked up at a large fossil.

"Hm... I see." Tree could hardly understand half of what Marker had said, but it was more than fine. He just loved to listen to Marker talk.

"So what are your interests?" Marker then asked, as the two of them walked to the next exhibit.

"Oh, well I want to be an artist and a photographer. I like to take pictures and then draw what I see." Tree told Marker, as he took out his phone to show Marker photos that he took. They consisted of scenic sunsets, beautiful cloud formations, and gorgeous city skylines.

"...those look awesome! Man, if only I could take pictures that good." Marker chuckled, as they entered the next room.

"I'm sure that you're really good at studying and researching dinosaurs, Marker. You could probably write an amazing research paper on them!" Tree returned, as he gave Marker a reassuring hug.

Marker was a little taken aback by this, but reciprocated the hug. "O-oh, thanks Tree..." He mumbled, and Tree slowly backed off.

"Oh, did you uh... not wanna be hugged?" Tree asked, and Marker enthusiastically shook his head no.

"N-no... it's not that... just... excuse me for a moment." Marker panicked, before rushing to the nearest restroom.

"Oh... m-my god. A hug hasn't made me feel like that in a long time... d-do I...?" Marker questioned as he sat on the toilet, before whipping out his phone.

"tree i uh... like you like that"

Marker simply sent that text, and put his phone back in his pocket. He had to get it off his chest at that very moment. He couldn't keep a secret, and it was going to slip eventually.

After a couple more seconds, he slowly walked out of the bathroom only to see Tree waiting out there for him. "...I like you too. Let's go grab lunch and... talk." Tree responded, before the most awkward five minute walk of all time ensued.

When the two finally sat down with their food, Marker sighed, telling Tree, "I'm so sorry for ruining today... i-it was just supposed to a good day between friends and now I ruined it..."

"Marker what are you talking about? Today is ten times better now. I've liked you for a while, and you telling me that made my day." Tree calmed him down, as Marker slowly looked up at Tree.

"...you promise?" Marker simply asked, as Tree nodded. Marker, in a quick thinking moment, got up and grabbed a kids meal crayon and a napkin, and sat down, sketching something for a moment. What it ended up being was an awful drawing of Marker and Tree with a heart around them. Marker simply slid it over to Tree, not even wanting to look in the other's eyes.

"...I love it! Thank you so much!" Tree laughed, as he leaned over the table and gave Marker a hug. Marker couldn't help but break out into a smile, as they both returned to their seats and began chatting.
