Chapter two: Winnie

Start from the beginning

She internally sighed before returning their fake smiles, her smile just as fake as theirs.
She then promptly turned around to face the train tracks while discreetly rolling her eyes and quickly dropping her fake smile.

The small family of three waited for another ten minutes in complete silence before the train finally arrived.

Winona swiftly grabbed her cart before starting towards the train but was abruptly pulled back by her elbow, she turned around to face Her Mother, whose eyes were wide.

"Remember your responsibility, Lorelei." Her Mother hissed at her while whispering.

The small girl nodded as her Mother loosened her grip from her elbow and went to stand back with her husband, she watched as her Mother wrapped her arm around her husband's middle before both her parents gave one last nod before apparating away.

She took that as their goodbye and put herself on the Hogwarts Express.

Being the first one on the train she (the other students were still saying their goodbyes) had a large selection of what compartments she could sit in.

After walking for a bit she had finally decided on compartment number 18 which was situated near the end of the train.

After walking into the space she inspected the compartment a bit, looking down at the seats, noticing five lighter blue spots worn from use, though one of them was less worn than the other four.

Deciding the compartment was good enough, the young witch began loading her trunks up onto the rack above the seats.

She let out a tired sigh after she was done before sitting down on the lesser worn spot which was next to the window on the right side.

After she sat down she realized that the other students had started to board the train causing her knees to begin to bounce with anxiety.

Poor Winona was nervous, for this was going to be the first time she would be mingling with other witches and wizards her age.

Back in America, before the small family moved to Britain, they had been forced to live as muggles, in an attempt to hide from Voldemort and his death eaters.
As a result of seeking refuge with Muggles, the small magical family of three was subsequently forced to live a life of complete solitude to protect their secret.

Well, that was one part of the reason for the magic family's solitariness.
The other part was the hatred Winona's parents held for Muggles, they wanted nothing to do with them other than the protection they provided, so ultimately the small family didn't leave their house unless it was completely necessary.

Though it was important to the small family to rarely leave their home, they had no choice but to send little Winona to muggle school, an unwanted necessity to keep their muggle appearance.
During Winona's time in Elementary school from kindergarten to fifth grade, her parents had demanded for her to befriend no one, and to be hypervigilant of their secret. So while all the muggle children laughed and played amongst themselves, Winona was left out, sitting at her desk, reading books about friendship and how it had the power to heal most wounds and win wars.
Unfortunately, Winona had once tried to disobey her parents' orders during the first half of second grade and decided that she would try to befriend the girl that she sat beside, the said girl looked little Winona up and down before calling the poor little witch a freak, Winona had sworn off muggles ever since, well, that was until she met a certain little muggle boy with big green eyes that made her heart clench.

The first and only friend that Winona ever had was little Harry and other than their small friendship, she read books to make herself feel less lonely.
