In the morning I wake up before. I get up from bed put on my gear. I start thinking about my future plans. I should probably head towards the town I saw, always getting sidetracked isn't helping me in the slightest. I hear Marie groan and see her waking up, she slowly gets up from the bed.
Me: Good morning Marie.
Marie: Ahh, good morning to you to. Why are you all dressed up like that?
Me: I know this is rather quick but I was kind of planning heading out on my way, but I didn't want to just leave so I waited.
Marie: "Ahhh..", it kind of sounded like she was disappointed "well, if it is a thing you must do I will not stop you."
Me: Well, you see, I kind of was wanting to ask you. Will you lead me to the nearest town? I don't know the area much and I guessed that you would know more.
As I say those words she immediately light up and quickly gets up from the bed.
Marie: I will gladly show you!!
She puts on her dress, heals and hat and picks some of her stuff and heads towards the door, a smile plastered across her face. I gather up my stuff and go with her.
The walk is long, though the forest but we manage to find a small track which leads to the town. On our walk we talk some more, about mundane stuff, some different topics come and go. About our weird first encounter but how in the end we both enjoyed each others company.
Two hours later.
We manage to reach the town, bigger than you had expected. Streets bristling with activity, people walking, everybody doing something. People selling their wares, chatter and yelling filles the air. This is not too far away from a normal city life on a market. Marie happily points every point of interest, a blacksmith shop, a potion, gear, clothe shops. You then reach the town center, a temple stand tall, but simple in design. She then points to two building opposite side but facing each other. One a inn where travelers and adventurers gather and drink and eat, Marie says that the place isn't half bad and that that is where I could find myself a room to stay at. The other one, in front of which people dressed in robes, armor and other gear stand, is the Adventurers guild, well, the one for this particular area. There I can register myself as a adventurer and complete quests and tasks for coin. Nothing I don't know already but it is enjoyable seeing her talk so much and with such interest.
We then proceed to walk towards the guild building, passing many people, some giving me side eyes and glances. I probably do stick out like a sore thumb but nothing I can for now. We walk into the building, on the left are chairs and sofas, where the adventurers sit and talk. On the right a board with papers and posts pined to it, probably a quest and bounty board. And in front a counter which a woman sits at. She is probably the receptionist. Marie and Me walk over to the counter and upon seeing Marie the receptionist light up.
