A mysterious contract

Numerous gunfire was exchanged between Counters and the Raptures. William's squad is doing everything to defeat the Raptures and protect their commander. However even with quality on their side, the Raptures is slowly overwhelming them.

Anis : They keep coming! At this rate, we're going to die!

Neon : My firepower must not falter at this crucial moment!

Marian : Stay back Commander! This is dangerous outside!

Rapi : Commander! How long until the rescue force arrive!?

William : Two minutes now, we must hold on!

Then a lord appears to put more pressure on them.

Rapi : Lord detected! Codename : Doctor!

Anis : A Lord?! What did we do to piss them off so much?!

Neon : Existing...?

Anis : ... Really?

The Raptures keep coming closer to them and directly threaten William's life.

Marian : Stay close to me, Commander! They are right next to us!

Rapi : Commander! Energy concentration coming from the Lord!

William : Is that arcs of electricity?! He is going to get all of us! Get in cover!

Rapi : We can't! If we do, the Raptures will get to you!

Anis : Dammit! He will attack now!

The Lord aims at them to kill in one shot and then...

A deafening sound is heard.

Anis : ... Huh?

Neon : What happened?

Marian : Is this real?!

William : Rapi! What is going on?!

Rapi : ... Lord Doctor destroyed.

The upper half of it's body is gone, only his legs remains. Then they see Raptures coming to them and a familiar figure.

Sonate : Commander Lowell, I have arrived. I will take you and the rest of your squad to safety.

William : Hang on a moment, I have to contact someone.

Sonate : ... Understood, I will wait for you.

She then moves around in a circling pattern.

William : Rapi, can you pretend that we defeated the Lord?

Rapi : Yes.

William : Good, now to contact this brat...

William opens his communicator and contacts Syuen.

Rapi : <Enemy neutralized.>

Syuen : <Damn...>

William : <We're still alive.>

Syuen : <Hey, William.>

William : <What's wrong?>

Syuen : <This isn't how I usually operate, but how would you feel about coming to work for me? You'll get the executive treatment.>

William : <... Go on.>
