I literally sat there with my mouth agape, just staring. It was like I was caught in a trance and the only thing I saw was him. His eyes scanned the classroom before settling on a desk towards the back, never looking my way. My gaze followed him until he settled into a seat next to another guy then did that guyish handshake, hug thing that they do when they see each other. To be honest, it looks like a pretty stupid greeting from my point of view.

I heard someone clear their throat, drawing my gaze away from the god in human form. Ugh, my stupid brother was grinning at me with a knowing look on his face.

"What so you want, Freak?" I asked him sternly.

"Oh, nothing, but I definitely know what you want." he replied cockily, wiggling his eyebrows.

"Ew, gross, you know nothing about be. You only know my name, not my story!" I said playfully, hitting him on the arm.

"Ouch, you hurt my heart, I thought I was your best and only friend." Lock said, with a hand on his chest and pouting.

"Well, ain't that the truth, you just know everything about me, don't you?"

"Of course I do! I'm your twin, it's my job to know everything about you."We continued on like that, with the sarcasm and come-back tennis until the bell rang and everyone in the classroom quietened. Mr Mitchell stood up and walked round to the front of his desk and perched on it. Well, that was pretty pointless.

"Good morning, lovely form class, welcome back and I hope you all had a great summer and what not, no injuries or broken bones that I can tell so far, so that's a good sign. As you may have noticed, if you weren't too busy talking to your friends and not been welcoming to the newest members of our form, yes, I'm looking at you, Ollie. So,  Van- I mean Key and Lock, would you come up here, please, and introduce yourselves?"

We got up and walked to the front of the room in sync, like in that creepy twins way. I always enjoyed it when it happened, 'cause it seemed to freak people out. We faced the class and they looked back, either looking expectant, board and curious. What a polite bunch these were.

"Um, hey, I'm Lock - short for Locki, and this is Vanessa, but everyone calls her Key. Um, we're twins and our family has been living in the States for the past 3 years, but we moved back for final year. So, yeah. You wanna add anything?" Lock looked at me, with a similar expectant look on his face to others in the room. Oh, fine, all right then.

"Yep, so we are twins, not identical of course, as we were arguing this morning-" I pointed my thumb at Lock and fake whispered "-he's a bit of a dumb-ass." Good thing was, a few people chuckled, way to break the ice! Others were just like 'what the hell' and Lock just frowned, so I continued. "I'm the better twin, obviously in looks and everything else-"

"Hey, that is so not true!" Lock interrupted, slugging my shoulder.

"Oh, you just wait, brother, you're gonna get what's coming to you." I said darkly. The rest of the room just looked at us, unsure of what to do and Mr Mitchell was smiling at our banter.

"Ok now, go sit down before someone gets stabbed, and by the looks of it, Lock, you don't have very good odds, from the look on her face."

We retreated back to our seats, the whole time I had been up there, I had avoided looking in one particular direction of a particular someone, who might have stopped all the words from coming out my mouth if I had taken just one peek.

As Lock was about to sit down on the desk chair, I slid it out from under him and he fell to the floor. There was a second of silence, as if no one knew how to respond, before the crowd began to laugh and cheer. I pumped my fist into the air.

"Key one, Lock nil!" I declared triumphantly and Mr Mitchell high fived me, what a lad!

"Oh, no you didn't sister, this means war." This cause a few 'oooh's and 'ahhh's to break out from the class, as if they knew that with us there, this term would be far more entertaining. Hell, they should already start placing their bets, cause I knew they were in for a treat with us being there.

It was just like this at our last school, though we caused a boys vs. girls pranking tennis match. Each gender would team together to come up with all sorts in retaliation to whatever the other side had done. Once, registration had turned into a spitball war between the two sides, and we had made defenses out of chairs and tables. Our tutor had just laughed at us throughout that space of a half hour. It did get a bit out of hand and she didn't care. I just hoped this class wouldn't be so influenced by our fighting (or maybe I did - I was just too evil for my own good!).

After all the commotion of me being awesome, we returned to our seated positions, eyeing each other, to make sure either of us wouldn't retaliate to anything the other did. Mr Mitchell continued with his welcome back spiel and others around us muttered to one another.

Once Mr M. had take the register, I felt a light tap on my back, so I turned around. A girl was sitting behind me with a navy dress on that wasn't really short, tight or revealing. She had long, almost black hair and thick rimmed glasses.

"Just so you know, we are going to be best friends." She said in a monotoned way, that showed she was serious. I was slightly taken aback by her bluntness, but nodded anyway. Probably out of fear, this girl just looked so serious, it freaked me out.

"Um, ok, uh, hi, I'm-"

"I know who you are, Key, but you don't know me. I'm Brooklyn, your new bestie and this is Amanda, your other new bestie." Brooklyn said, gesturing to a blonde girl next to her. She smiled at me and waved slightly, as if she were accustomed to Brooklyn acting this way.

"Heyyya," my brother sang, "Any room for me in this group, or is my sisters fat ass taking up all the space?"In response to this, I elbowed him in the gut, causing him to keel over slightly.

"Uh, sure, we could always use some extra plebs in the group, the more the merrier and all. The guys will be happy to take you on as their new toy." Brooklyn replied.

"Is it me or did that just sound really creepy?"

"It's just you. But if you're paranoid, always remember to carry your rape whistle." I say, shrugging.

"Right, thanks for the advice." Lock chuckled.

Sometime later, the bell rang, halting a debate the four of us had just gotten into, signaling the end of morning reg. Everyone gathered their bags and walked out the room. Luckily for me, I had music with both Amanda and Brook first lesson, then Maths with just Brook, so I knew I wasn't alone for the morning leading up to break, like Lock was; though knowing him, I was sure he wouldn't have any trouble making friends seeing as though he's just a lovable bear.

When we made it to the music rooms (as it's such a long and tiring trek full of twists and turns - in the corridors), most of the class is already seated, so the three of us find seats towards the back. I insist that Amanda and Brook sit together, because it would be rude if I had just stolen one from the other. Though it didn't matter, as they were only across the isle, so we had no problem talking.

That's when I felt someone sit down on my other side in the unoccupied (now occupied) seat. I looked at Brook and Amanda and they sat with wide eyes and jaws to the floor, not good.I slowly turned in my seat, stiffly, gripping the edge of the table and preparing myself for the worst. I saw wavy brown hair and piecing eyes in the chair.

"Hello, Key," he murmured playfully, raising an eyebrow at my shock and horror.

 Yep, totally screwed.
