Connor and I walked into class, with everyone else, to find the teacher had a seating arrangement up on the board. Luckily for me, Connor and I were sitting at the same work bench, along with another girl named Emily and Oliver. Typical. We switched the seats around a bit, and as it was a moderately sized square table, I sat on one side, whilst the other girl sat opposite me, Connor on the side to my right and Oliver to the left.
Connor and I just chatted away, whilst all our peers continued to filter into the classroom. The same thing happened with each: they would look at the board, search their name, look at those who they were sat with, frown or smile, then walk over to their assigned seat.
It wasn't long before a red-headed girl walked in and completed the same ritual. She walked over to our table and sat down opposite me. Obviously this was Emily. Her pale face was lit up by a rosy blush and small smile. She looked up at me and Connor from under her bangs and nodded at us as a hello and we reciprocated it, by nodding back.
It wasn't long before our teacher began the usual spiel that we had been through with my past two lessons already, so it didn't take much for me to zone out. My thoughts drifted to Oliver and where he might've been at that time and why he wasn't in class, but was waiting outside just moments before. It was like he had just vanished into thin air when Connor and I had entered the classroom.
With a sudden burst, my day dreaming ended as the person I was just thinking of casually strolled into class, like everything was just peachy.
"Sorry I'm late, Sir, I got held up at the nurse's office. My friend thought it would be a good idea to try and jump in the school pond," he chuckled.
"That's ok, just take the seat assigned to you Oliver." Our teacher replied, gesturing to the board behind him.
It didn't take him long to spot his name and join our table, giving us all the same nod that Emily had, then smirked at me with a subtle wink. I blushed, especially as Connor looked at me with a raised eyebrow. I rolled my eyes at him, then carried on listening to our teacher, who had resumed from where he had been interrupted.
I couldn't help but let my eyes drift to Oliver and his scrumptious face. He seemed pretty focused on what our teacher was saying if you looked at him from a distance, but with my front row seating, I could see his eyes were glazed over and his eyebrows were pulled together in deep contemplation. The black shirt he was wearing had the Hollister name and bird on the front, pulled tightly across his broad chest. I looked up again to his face and his hair, which wasn't particularly styled, just left in its messy waves. To be honest, I could ave looked at him all day.
I felt a tugging on my arm and turned to see Connor giving me that look again. I socked him on the arm and he pouted in mock hurt. I could't help but roll my eyes again and he did the same at my eye roll.
After a while our teacher, who I now knew to be Mr. Buckingham, quit his ramble and let us talk quietly amongst our selves for the rest of the lesson, he put emphasis on the 'quietly' part, before getting out his phone and either playing some sort of game on it or texting, I couldn't tell.
Turning back to the rest of the table, I began chatting with Emily, just to get to know her and introduce myself. It wasn't long before Connor butted in and made us bicker like an old married couple, whilst Emily and Oliver just sat there looking either amused (Oliver) or shocked (Emily).
"Hey, Em, can you knock some sense into this buffoon and tell her that Rita Ora is so much cooler than Taylor Swift?" Connor pleaded.
"Pfft, no one is cooler than Taylor Swift, and she is my bae, her songs are my life!" I argued back, flicking him in the head.
"I have to agree with Connor on this, Key, I prefer Rita Ora," She giggled.
"How dare you! I can't be friends with either of you. If this were a date, with either of you, I would take the bread sticks from the table, stuff them in my purse and leave immediately." I stated, with a nod of the head and leaving Connor and Emily to giggle with each other. I turned to Oliver, about to ask him, his opinion, but he beat me to it.
"Taylor Swift all the way! No doubt about that, her concerts were the best I've ever been to." he said, looking amused still.
"Wait, wait wait, you've been to a Taylor Swift concert?" Connor asked in shock.
"Yeah, I've been to like one for every tour she's done. I was literally at one not long ago for her 1989 album. My sister is a massive Swiftie."
"I never would have guessed. How old's your sister?" I asked, curiously.
"She's fifteen, she has posters and stuff all over her room and everything, even made sure we had front row tickets at Hyde Park and made me get up to queue at like four in the morning. It was definitely worth it though."
"You were at Hyde Park?! So was I! I went with my brothers and sister, Jo-Jo couldn't go obviously 'cause she's only three, but the rest of us went and oh my, it was amazing! We were standing right next to the stage on the left, we were so close we could have touched her!" I practically screamed with my enthusiasm. Nothing beat Taylor Swift.
"We were to the right of the stage, right in the corner between the long bit and the main part."
It wasn't long before Mr. Buckingham looked up and told us all to shut up, right before the bell rang. Everyone gathered their stuff and started filing out of the workshop.
"What do you have next?" Connor asked me.
"I have a free." I replied.
"So do I," Connor, Oliver and Emily all said together, making us all chuckle.
"Why don't we all go to the Sixth form common room and chill before lunch," I suggested and everyone nodded in agreement. We made our way through the hallways to the sixth form area and settled down in the common room until the bell rang again for lunch.
