Y/n POV
"Atlas said that's the last of the shipment, Vik, Mordecai, I need you to man the front we got word from our supplier people have been trying to steal from them for months. So we will need to stay on the lookout after we bring this to Little Daisy "
Mordecai, jots down with his clipboard, and pen "Yes all 57 cases of hard Apple Cider are in."
"Noise, noise all I ever hear is noise, I don't need you over explaining everything" Viktor was getting irritated, from yesterday's gun brawl.
"I'M SORRY VIKTOR! I DIDN'T EVEN SEE YOU I DIDN'T KNOW YOU WERE RIGHT NEXT TO MY GUN" You yell hoping it would reach his thick skull.
"ARGH" He puts his hands on his ears, "ringing, ringing all I hear is the ringing" Viktor gets in the car mumbling an angry expression never leaving his face.
You look down, tail wrapping around your legs. You didn't mean to make him more upset than he already was.
Mordecai speaks up "Well then," he straps off his gloves. "Let us go, we've wasted enough time as it is." Politely opening the back car door to you.
It raises a smile.

When we get to the Little Daisy Cafe we're greeted by Mitzi and Atlas standing near the garage where we hop out and Viktor immediately starts unloading.
"What's got his pants in a jumble?" Mitzi, whispers past. "Talk, all ve' do is talk" you raise your hand mimicking him, closing one eye.
Mitzi chuckles strapped to Atlas arm. "Well I better go talk to him." You frown. "Yes ma'am." Walking over to help get the crates out.
Atlas walks over to you putting a hand on your shoulder. He smiles and speaks softly it was so faint and so inner personal the depths of the soul could only but hang on his every word.
He reassures you about Viktor, walking away to go join his wife.
It just left you and Mordecai, you were nervous around him. You always felt like if you spoke he would critique it, and if you moved he would fix it.
But his soft face no matter how stone-cold it always made you a bit calm. "What? Do I have something on my face?"
You look away, you hadn't realized you'd been staring that long. You start to pick up a crate but like a shadow he appears next you no sound,
"If I have something on me I'd like to know," You jump, letting the crate fall, but Mordecai grabs it before it could drop.
He stares at the box then at you, "No Mordecai, nothing. I'm sorry I didn't mean to stare, I'm just so distracted- I-"
"No need Y/n, I understand you are indubitably upset at the nature that Viktor is acting angrily towards you." You shake your head, confused by his words.
"However frustrating he might be hates you, he does not." You smirk. It seems if as Mordecai was trying to comfort you?"Even though you are a general nuisance to his general well-being" No matter how terrible he does it.
"Thanks?"
"Don't mention it." Mordecai looks down, still holding the crate. "I was thinking, we could go together..." He tenses up, "to the lookout, Viktor obviously is not doing well and as is common knowledge when your ears are damaged you tend to have anger increase. So we should let him heal before he becomes annoyingly bitter even longer than he usually is." He looks down, only making eye contact for less than a second.
"We should effectively be able to do this job without him as we need precision and not brute force for looking-... Out." His face scrunches, and eyes widen. Grasping the crate you could hear the wood slowly cracking in his hands.
He still refuses eye contact, only having his eyes bulge out of his head like he in continuous stress. Or a conversation with Viktor.
You were so focused on his facial structure you had completely forgotten about the crate he held, until it smashed on the floor leaving bits of glass everywhere and liquid almost flooding the space.
Hearing a wince of pain from Mordecai. His hand bled from the abnormal grip and tear of the wood and glass.
"Mordecai please sit down"
"But why must I-"
"SIT DOWN" Your eyes widened with the words hissing and showing your teeth, with those simple words he sat down.
You run to a cardboard box on the other side of the garage, getting to floor and rummaging around throwing everything on site.
"C'mon, c'mon, c'mon AHHA" You pull out a first aid, with a joyous laugh, you get into the car where Mordecai sat. Placing the first aid on the dashboard
You take his paw and look at the glass and wood stuck in his hand and pour alcohol over it, taking out tweezers and plucking everything out one by one. "You never did specify Y/n" your ears perking up while focused on his wound. "Why did Atlas hire you, if I'm to work with somebody I should at least inquire how they got the job"
You chuckle, while he winces from the glass. "Well, I've known Atlas ever since I've gotten out of war, he's been family. Actually because I was in the war he decided to hire me" You smile, putting the wood and glass in the glove compartment, on a single use napkin.
"He told me he needed a nurse on deck because quote, 'The doctors were asking too many questions' and because I didn't live in this area anymore I wrote him back telling him different people that could help with his project." But he told me a hands-on approach was needed, that we needed more of a people person to get the job done right"
Patting down more alcohol as you patch up Mordecai's hand, wrapping it with the white bandages in the first aid.
"I told him no so many times, I guess I had no more no's left to give so I headed out here and well you know the rest." You press down firmly on Mordecai's hand making sure the bandages stay on.
You blush while looking in his eyes. "Ahem- well so much for making Florence Nightingale proud." Letting go of his hand. "Well good as new, I would take the bandages off in about 2-3 days they should heal by then.
"Well" Mordecai pushes up his glasses, "he was right to hire you, we do need more medical assistance around here. For when I break a bottle or two." His smile widens a big uncomfortable grin, it makes you nervous, "hehe" Mordecai keeps his face, "See I can make a jest, haha, funny was it not?"
You just back out of the car into the caves. You'll talk to him later tonight but if looks could kill that smile would slaughter you.
