Sebastian was a surprised as the mortician. There I was, standing before the demon and reaper...crying. Not once in their wildest dreams, did they think I could be this emotional. Literally, I broke down in tears. The two stared at each other, not sure if they should comfort me or just wait for me to cry out. Something reacted in them inside; it was hard for them to see me sad. Sebastian's expression had changed, from an angry face to a caring one. Raising up from the coffin he sat on, slowly coming forward. Undertaker didn't make any movements to prevent this, letting the butler wrap his arms around me, as I hugged him back. However, the sight to see the demon this close to me, was too much for him to handle. He left us alone, with an excuse to get some tea and cookies.
"I am sorry."
My sudden apology caught Sebastian off guard. His hugs got tighter, leaning his head on my shoulder, "This is not your fault."
"If I haven't run away and got you angry, nothing of that would have happened."
"You do care about the young Lord, don't you?"
I nodded, still sobbing. The butler was confused. For a demon, human emotions shouldn't bother him or that they care for others. Demons are known to take this as their advantage to claim souls for their own. For Sebastian, I was a different case. My sudden outburst wiped all the anger and frustration from his mind, feeling moved by this new feeling. Once he lets me go, tears feel off his face. Now it was my turn to be surprised.
"Why are you crying for?"
Not sure himself, he touched his face, feeling the liquid rolling down his fingers, "I...I don't know."
The room went silent, not one of us dared to speak. The quiet atmosphere got very uncomfortable after sometimes passed. Sebastian just stood there...and stared. But so was I. What was he thinking just now?
"Sebastian...I...I..."
The butler looked eager to hear what I have to say, until the back door opened, "N/A, we have to get ready."
"Where are the tea and cookies?"
Playfully, he slapped his thigh, "I knew I forgot something."
The demon was annoyed for the disturbance and even more that I didn't continue. Instead, I nodded and went over to the mortician, "Right, I will see you at the tailor."
"I thought we are going together"
My eyes wandered over to Sebastian, "We will be there shortly."
Undertaker didn't like the sound of that, but refused to say anything. Like him, he pulled on a creepy face, hugging the butler with one arm over his shoulder. I couldn't see it from where I stood, as Undertaker whispered into his ear, "You are already with one foot in your grave. One wrong move and I will bury you alive." From where I was, the mortician added out loud, "Aright, I will see you there. Don't take too long."
Undertaker pulled his hat down to his face, as a deep and creepy grin plastered his face. Neither of us knew what he just did, as the mortician left the shop in silence. His sudden behavior worried me though. Sebastian was relieved, stepping forward, "You wanted to say something?"
"Eh...me?"
"Don't tell me you just forgotten?"
Instantly, I remembered, "Ah yes, I wanted to say..."
"Are you two ready yet?" the sudden appearance of Undertaker startled us. Telling him that it might take a minute, he left again.
Only to pop back in, "The young Earl won't be pleased if we are late."
"Earl?" Sebastian's eyes turned dark, from the Undertaker towards me.
I sighted, "Not Ciel, he means Lord Trancy."
The butler got tense. It was worse than he thought, "Are you going?"
"Of course we do, Undertaker has also an invitation ."
In disbelieve, the mortician waved the paper at the butler, "indeed I have. Now N/A...shall we?"
"Can Sebastian come along?"
Neither the reaper nor the demon understood my change of nature. First I wanted to be as far away from Sebastian and now, I want him to join? Realizing their unspoken question I answered, "Lord Trancy might know where Ciel is. That is all there is to it." Undertaker seems to be relieved about it, grinning slightly. For Sebastian it is a good idea, since he doesn't know where to search, he took the offer. Unknown to me, that he can also keep an eye on the spider butler, in case he tries something funny. Gesturing me to go ahead, Sebastian went over to the mortician, "Beware of the butler, he is no one N/A should be around for too long."
"Hehehe...look who is talking...and besides, I already know his deal" Undertaker's eyes darkened, "If you are so concerned about her, you won't mind keeping an eye on her for a while."
The demon was irritated. What was he after?
"Why the sudden change in nature? What are you up to?"
The mortician shrugged bored, "I forgot that I had to take care of a customer, since he has to be buried tomorrow morning." Opening the coffins lid with his foot, the butler could see a familiar face inside. Pleased with the sight, he bowed and left the shop, keeping me close to him. Undertaker frowned, as his hand held mine. Closing the coffin, he got something out of his sleeve, something that belongs to Sebastian. "Sorry butler, but this is the last time you get this close to N/A" with the item in his hand, he left through the back door. He has no time to deal with this demon, plus he assumed that I had some feelings for him, despite my countless escapes. My behavior from earlier made the reaper unsure. But he knows who could take care of this problem, without being involved.
"Farewell...Sebastian Michaelis."
