MAISIE WAS ANNOYED
Annoyed at herself. Annoyed at the gods. Annoyed at stupid Leo Valdez. She was just in a pissed off mood. More than usual.
She wanted to wear something different today. She was sick of the eye blinding orange t-shirts that looked bad on just about everybody but the Aphrodite cabin. Digging to the bottom of her drawer, she found a black version of the camp t-shirt. Her and Nico Di Angelo had bonded over their hatred for the bright orange, along with some other things, and decided to make their own shirts. Completely black.
The hem and bottom of the shirt was cut. Exposing her midriff and falling off one shoulder. She wore baggy camo cargo pants that sat right onto her hips. If she raised her arms, they exposed some of her burn scars, so she chose to keep her arms by her side for the day. She put on her jewelry and made sure to keep Harmony's dagger in her waistband. It helped her to feel like she was always with her. She patted the dagger lovingly, blew a kiss to the picture of Harmony on her bedside table, and left out the door.
When walking to the dining pavilion for breakfast nobody had really noticed her. Some girl from ares cabin complimented her shirt and that was about it. Walking to go sit alone at the nemesis table (gods only knew where Donovan was at this time) she ate an apple and put on her headphones.
LEO HAD SPENT ALL MORNING TALKING
This wasn't unusual for Leo, but he just couldn't shut up to Jason and Piper about this new girl he met. Leo went to join them at the Hermes table so he could excitedly describe this girl he met. Jason and Piper nodded throughout his rant and as he was talking about how she pushed him behind the cabin, Jason interrupted.
"Wait so you don't know what her name is? Just that her last name is supposedly Elliot?"
"Exactly." Leo said.
"And you're already like in love with her."
"Yes, Jason." He sighed "Nice to know you've been paying attention."
Jason lightly chuckled as he continued to describe her. As humorous as this was for Piper, she still felt awkward around Jason. How was she supposed to feel when the last month or so of her life was a lie? She was crushed. No, devastated. She truly loved Jason, and he had zero clue who she was. And don't even get her started with the weird visions of Hera they've all been experiencing. The whole situation was unnerving. Piper was about to excuse herself to the bathroom when a pretty girl walked in.
She was gorgeous. She wasn't sure why nobody else wouldn't look in her direction. With her baggy cargo pants, cropped black camp tee, an assortment of silver jewelry, and sharp eyeliner, she seemed like one of the cool kids at camp. She didn't miss how Drew distastefully glanced and her and whispered to the girl next to her. Yeah she hated those Aphrodite girls. She sat alone at a table that she recognized as the table for children of Nemesis. The Goddess of revenge and retribution.
