SILENCE FELL OVER THE VALLEY
Well... it was silent. Until Leo decided to let out a few loud whoops and cheers in support for his friend.
"Yeah! You tell them, mi amor!"
"Leo Valdez! If you get me out of this cage this instant—" Hera was cut off.
"Yeah, yeah." Leo waved her off. "I'm trying my best here!"
During Maisie's speech, Jason had managed to launch himself onto the leg of the giant and climbed up his arm before he realized what had happened.
"You dare?" He bellowed.
"For Rome!" Jason shouted as he drove a sword from the giants hair in the most convenient target— his massive ear.
Lightning struck from the depths of the sky and blasted the sword, throwing Jason to the ground next to Maisie.
Porphyrion almost fell, holding his ear that leaked golden ichor. The circle of monsters gave a collective growl and prepared to charge.
"No!" Porphyrion commanded. "I will kill them myself."
In his distracted state, he didn't notice how Maisie had begun to sneak up behind him, climbing up his leg like Jason did before her.
The giant raised his spear as it began to glow. "You want to play with lighting, boy? You forget. I am the bane of Zeus. I was crated to destroy your father, which means I know exactly what will kill you."
Jason braced for impact but it never came.
Maisie had driven her axe straight into the eye of Porphyrion, causing golden ichor to rain from the wound.
Maisie threw herself off the falling giant as he collapsed to his knees, sending a shockwave across the land. Stone and rocks were launched from the ground and now rained from the sky.
Jason harnessed the winds to launch himself into battle once again while Maisie was left to protect herself from the entourage of rock and mud.
A particularly large bolder launched towards her, but she charged forward with no fear. Her arms found themselves in a crossed position as they were enveloped with gold, and once the bolder made contact with her, it split in two halves.
One half flew to her left, taking out a couple wolves and earthborn in the process, while the other had been launched forward into the back of Prophrion's knee, who had been turned around and too busy fighting a flying Jason to stop it.
Jason continued to distract the wounded giant as Maisie found ways to attack him from below, targeting his knees and ankles to force him to the ground.
