The Avatar's Guardian ( Lin x reader )

It's been a couple of days since the dramatic escape from Amon's clutches, and the ordeal has taken a toll on all of us, particularly on Korra. She has always been known for her outgoing nature and fearlessness in the face of adversity. As time passes, we have been racking our brains, trying to devise a plan to confront and defeat Amon.

"They're here!" you heard Mako snap, pulling you out of your thoughts. Quickly getting up and making your way towards the group, you looked at Mako.

"Are we sure they are here?" you asked, wanting to make sure it wasn't some trap from Amon.

"I'm sure of it, Y/N," he confirmed with a reassuring nod.

The group made it toward the dock way before you did. Not knowing what you walked yourself into when you emerged from the tunnel. Hearing and seeing the thunderous explosion launches the sailors into the air, while a menacing plane swoops in for an attack. With swift and precise movements, the firebenders manipulate their bending to unleash powerful blasts, taking down the oncoming planes. As you watch the chaos unfold, You see Korra emerge from the depths of the water, witnessing the relentless assault on the remaining ships by the aircraft. An earthbender valiantly tries to ward off the planes but is overpowered by the relentless bombardment. Leaping into the water, you summoned a swirling water vortex around your lower body using your bending abilities. With focused determination, you launched water projectiles at the planes, turning the sky into a frenzied battleground as the aircraft weaved and dodged. Amidst the intense aerial combat, a burst of fire bending caused one plane to erupt in flames, leading the pilot to eject from the aircraft. During the chaos, Iroh and his fellow firebenders unleashed their bending skills, meticulously aiming to thwart the planes. Their efforts culminated in a precise strike that brought down one of the planes.

Seeing Iroh's ship getting bombed and sending him into the water, you watch as your sister, Korra, bends the water to swiftly bring him to shore. Once you're assured of her safety, you bend the water beneath you, propelling yourself onto the dock and joining the group in the tunnel. You notice that Iroh's arm is burned from the explosion.

"Let me heal that for you, General," you say, gently bending water from your water sack. The cool, soothing liquid glows softly as you begin the healing process, carefully mending the burn on Iroh's arm.
"Thank you Y/N. I was prepared to deal with Sato's mecha tanks, but not these new high-speed aircraft." Iroh said honestly.

"I know,"  Korra said frustrated. " Every time we think we have an advantage, Amon outsmarts us"  You didn't know why you offered to heal Iroh's arm, but you did. Then again, he was an old friend of yours. You had met him during your time in the Fire Nation while learning how to fire bend. This was a secret known only to Zuko, Katara, Aang, Toph, and Sokka. They knew you weren't the Avatar but rather the Avatar's guardian, a mystery that puzzled everyone. Despite many attempts, no one could figure out how or why you held this unique role. You were determined to uncover the truth yourself, and after all this, you knew you would... at least try to.

"No matter what our plan is, he always has a better one,"  Bolin whines as you Dramatically flare his arms. That kid.

"Amon is winning so far, but we're not out of the fight yet," Irohs says as you finish healing him and wrapping his arm up.

Bolin got up and loudly said "I like this man's confidence! So, how are we not out of the fight?" he asked, looking at Iroh.

Iroh stands up, clutching his arm. "A second wave of reinforcements is on the way, but I need to warn them," he says, looking at your scowl. His lips curl into a smirk, knowing well how much you hate it when people undo all your healing.

"Wipe that smirk off your face before I make you eat dirt again, Iroh," you calmly say, making Iroh shiver at the thought. The group of teenagers looked at you bewildered at what you said to him.
