Aiyanna
"I don't want this honeymoon to end."
Freshly woken up by Edward kissing the top of my head while his hands brushed my back, I realized how surreal the stay at isle Esme was. A week had passed already since we landed here, and I couldn't believe that we had to go to college at the end of the month.
"It is not over yet. We have two more weeks ahead of us and only a few days left here." I could almost see the smile on Edward's face as he answered.
Surprised, I rose my head above his chest planning to look at him, only to let my head fall back to its previous position almost instantly when an odd wave of vertigo hit me.
Edward's arms tightened around me in response.
"You're making me feel dizzy with all this mystery ! You never mentioned that we were supposed to be going elsewhere."
"It is not a surprise if I tell you."
This time, I took the time to look at him and used my hands to support my head.
"Where are we going ?" I asked.
As expected from him, Edward smirked and shook his head. "You will have as much information as you did before we came here."
"So you won't drop a hint until we get there ?"
"Exactly."
I frowned and hit his chest before I hopped out of bed. I must have moved too quickly though, because the moment my feet touched the ground, I had to regain my balance.
Thankfully, Edward caught me before I could stumble.
"Are you all right, Aiyanna ?" he worried. "This is not like you."
At the same time, my stomach growled. "It's gotten harder to function properly while being hungry." I laughed it off. "But I'm okay."
"Are you sure ?"
I nodded and turned to look at his soon-to-be black eyes. "You should go hunting too. Your eyes are getting darker."
"I'm planning to."
I cooked for lunch this time since it was too late for breakfast. I was getting tired of eating eggs though I had been craving for them throughout the whole week.
Being in South America, I wasn't surprised to see that Gustavo and Kaure had brought plantain for me, which I was greatful for. I was eager to eat homemade haitian food as I was used to eat it at least once a week back home. After all these eggs going through my system, it was safe to say that I missed more elaborated food.
After instructing Edward how to peel the plantains, which he obviously managed to do in a second, I prepared the chicken thighs, oddly disgusted by the sight of raw meat.
"I'll do the rest. Take a seat." Edward offered, once seeing me struggling not to regurgitate last night's dinner.
"Marriage is slowly turning me into a couch potato." I sighed.
"Some would say you are already. But of course, that thought would not dare cross my mind at all."
I glared at him. For once, Edward avoided my eyes and kept his whole attention on the chicken although I was sure he prepare it eyes closed.
"Careful. You're very close to spending your nights on the sofa for the rest of our stay."
Confident, Edward laughed at me. "I'm sure you and I can agree that you would join me at some point."
