Wednesday morning. Jeonghan was dreading today. He downed his cup of coffee and threw the empty cup in the trash, heading over to the elevator. His father, Joong-Lee, would be in the office.
The elevator dinged, signaling that Jeonghan had arrived on his floor. The doors slid open, and he walked out. He bowed his head at his co-workers as he made his way to his office. He set his things down and turned his computer on. He sat down. And began looking through emails and making calls to their clients.
A knock on the door made Jeonghan look up from his computer. It was Jun.
"You ready? The meeting is about to start. "
Jeonghan sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. No, he thought. He was not ready for this meeting.
"Yeah, I'm ready." He put his computer on sleep mode and grabbed his phone, slipping it into his pocket. He followed Jun down the hall. At the end of the hall, Jun pushed some numbers on the security keypad. It opened, and he and Jeonghan entered, the door shutting behind them. They continued walking down another long hallway until they reached another door. Jun punched in some numbers, and that door opened. A staircase leading down greeted them. They could hear faint voices below.
They walked down the stairs and, at the bottom, took a right. There was a big conference room. They walked in and saw that everyone was getting settled in. Jeonghan and Jun went over and sat next to Wonwoo, Vernon, DK, Woozi, and Mingyu.
They greeted one another. On the other side of the conference room, we're other members of the gang. They were a little older.
Jun leaned over to Jeonghan and whispered, " We will be meeting at Mingyu's after work. There's something that we need to tell you."
Jeonghan looked at the guys and noticed they were looking at him. "What is it?"
Jun looked at the 5. The guys nodded their head. Jun leaned forward again. "The six of us are leaving the gang."
Jeonghans eyes widen. "Really? He let you?"
Jun nodded. "Surprisingly, he did. Joong-Lee just wants us to do this
last mission, and then we are free."Jeonghan was curious still. "That doesn't sound like him at all. But I'm happy to hear that. It's best to get out before something bad actually happens. What will you guys do now?"
DK jumped in. "Joshua offered us all a job at his company. We only just talked about it yesterday. We told Joong-Lee just a few days ago that we would be leaving the gang."
Jeonghan nodded. "I was with Joshua last night, but I understand why he didn't say anything. I was with Sayeon."
"Joshua will be their too." Mingyu said right before they heard the sound of Joong-Lee's loud voice as he walked in.
"Good morning, gentlemen. I'm assuming you all know why you're here, right?"
Everyone nodded their heads and waited for their boss to continue.
"Tomorrow night, you will be boarding our plane and going to Japan. BTS has agreed to work with us to take down Kaito and his gang. As you all know, Kaito is trouble. He has intervened with multiple shipments of ours, BTS, and a few more. You will stay in Japan until he is dead. You all know what to do. " He lifted his head towards the door behind everyone and nodded his head.
Everyone turned and watched as someone walked in. They smiled when they noticed who it was. Park Jimin.
"Hello, guys. Nice to see you all." He bowed at them and walked to stand next to Joong-Lee.
Joong-Lee placed his hand on Jimin's shoulder. "Since he and BTS know Japan really well and where to find Kaito's Lair, he will be leading this mission. The rest of BTS will meet you later."
Jeonghan continued listening to his father talk about strategies and stuff, but by the end of the meeting, he had completely zoned out. Jun tapped him on the shoulder. Jeonghan blinked and shook his head, focusing his gaze on him.
"Meetings done. Ready to go? Joong-Lee is letting us go instead of working."
"Yeah, let's get out of here." He stood up and went to follow Jun and the others, hoping that his father didn't say anything to him. Thankfully, he didn't. They all went to their cars and hopped in, driving to Mingyu's place.
It was noon. Jeonghan thought about giving Sayeon a call but remembered that she had tours today, so he would just send a message when he got to Mingyu's.
He pulled into a long driveway, following the rest of the cars, and parked right next to Jun. He got out and walked around his car, following the guys inside.
Mingyu was getting out snacks and drinks. "Joshua said he'd bring lunch over." He grabbed a bottle of soju and went to sit down at the dining table. The rest grabbed one as well and sat down.
"Hello, guys!" Joshua came in, smiling, with bags of food.
They all greeted him. Jeonghan stood up and went over to help Joshua. Wonwoo went to the kitchen to grab plates and bowls, bringing them back and passing them around. Vernon helped take the containers of food out, setting them in the middle, while Jeonghan passed out chopsticks. Joshua took a seat next to Jeonghan, and they all started eating.
"I'm assuming Jun told you about them coming to work for me after your mission?" Joshua asked Jeonghan.
Jeonghan set his chopsticks down and nodded his head. "Yeah, he did. I was surprised that my father let them all leave. I'm happy, though. I wish I could leave, but unfortunately, I can't."
Joshua gave his shoulder a squeeze. Vernon was curious as to why he couldn't leave the gang.
"Is there a reason why you can't leave?" Vernom asked.
Jeonghan rubbed his forehead, pushing his hair out of his face. "He has something on me. If I leave, something bad could happen. So I'll just stay until I can figure something out."
Vernon and the others didn't bother to ask what it was. Joshua was the only one who knew. They finished their lunch and cleaned up. Vernon, Jun, DK, and Mingyu went to the game room and played some billiards. Wonwoo and Woozi sat and watched, while Joshua and Jeonghan stepped outside for a bit.
"Have you told Sayeon about your trip yet?" Joshua asked.
Jeonghan looked down at his feet. "Not yet. I was thinking of stopping by tonight. Should I tell her the truth?"
Joshua rubbed the back of his neck, sighing. " I feel like you should soon, Jeonghan. It could cause trouble between you two if you keep it a secret for too long."
Jeonghan lifted his head up and leaned it against the house. "I'll tell her tonight. What do you think she'll say? Should I tell her that she is the reason I'm working for my father's gang?"
Joshua crossed his arms. "Your father is a bitch. Using my sister, your girlfriend, like this. Threatening her life, if you don't do what he says. That is just fucked up."
"Yeah, I know. Joshua, I promise to keep her safe. I'll do my best to keep her out of this. Her life is more important than mine."
Joshua looked at him. "Your life is important too. Just be careful, please. For Sayeon and I."
Jeonghan placed his hand on Joshua's shoulder. "I promise."
Unknown POV"Drop me off right here, Lee Sun. I'll call you when I'm ready."
"Yes, Sir." Lee Sun pulled the car over and stopped the car. His boss opened the door and got it, shutting the door. He out the car in drive and drove away.
The man looked up at the apartment complex and smirked. For the past 2 hours, he watched and waited for the receptionist to leave so he could enter without being seen. He didn't bother with the cameras. Jeonghan would figure out soon that he was here.
Joong-Lee walked in and went to the elevators.
DING!
The doors slid open, and he stepped in, pushing 10. He watched the doors close, a smirk still on his face.
"Oh, Sayeon. It's been a while."
