I won't take my eyes off them

Maisie and Erin had been calling and chatting even more. Erin had also caved under the pressure of Ella's questioning and had ended up telling her whole family.

She'd been terrified even though she knew they'd be supportive but with Ella's help she'd done it and she was pleased.

Today Maisie was going over to Erin's house for the first time. They'd met up loads before but only at Maisie's house or in some public spot. Maisie was completely terrified and her behaviour had been quite difficult.

"I don't want to," she moaned as Lucy had told her to put her plate in the dishwasher.

"Look mush what is going on? You seem to be really struggling this morning," Lucy said. They quite often dealt with Maisie's defiant and emotional behaviour but this was something else.

"Nothing."

"Tell me."

"What if they don't like me?"

"What if who don't like you?"

"Erin's parents."

"They will like you."

"But what if I do something wrong or if I'm too hyper or if I forget to listen to what they're saying."

"They've met you before. They know what's up."

"Exactly. They've met me before. They've seen how much of a little shit I am."

Maisie had been judged loads through her life by other people's parents and it had led to her losing a few friends. She never meant to be naughty but she couldn't control it and then people told their children not to play with her.

"You aren't a little shit. You're amazing and they are going to love you."

She wasn't totally convinced but it was time to leave so she had to just get on with it.

Erin was really excited to see Maisie even though she'd only seen her three days previously and had face timed her the previous night.

When the doorbell rang, she went straight to answer it.

"Hiya," she said.

"Hi," Maisie said, all her worries gone as she saw that beautiful face staring back at her.

"Hi Maisie," Karen said, appearing from behind her daughter.

"Hiya."

After a bit of a chit chat where Maisie focused extremely hard on what was being said so she didn't miss anything, they headed up to Erin's room.

"Disgusting," Maisie said, pointing at the framed United shirt that was hanging on the wall.

"Incredible you mean."

"Incredibly disgusting."

"Shut up."

"You shut up," Maisie giggled.

They soon left the football debate behind them and Maisie threw herself onto Erin's bed, making herself comfortable despite only being in the room less than five minutes.

Erin chuckled and lay beside her. In the peace of Erin's bedroom, they chatted and laughed for hours. Despite never falling quiet in each other's company, they always managed to find something more to talk about.

Maisie had now put her arm around Erin's shoulders and the two of them lay with their bodies touching.

For the most part they'd been talking about stupid funny stories but they'd now slipped into a deep conversation.
