Your eyes slowly lifted open, groaning you pushed off of the bed. Rubbing your eyes, you let out another yawn. Soon enough, you were awake enough to be met with utter confusion. All the blue in the room had turned gold, and the gold from last night was now silver. Rubbing your eyes again, you glared at the room. Did you imagine it being different last night? Groaning, you jumped off th bed and looked around. Stomping over to a rather lovely wardrobe, you about ripped its doors open, glancing inside you hummed at the clothing selection. Or lack of, sighing you simply left the room and attempted to navigate the halls.Soon, an amazing smell led you around, eventually making you enter a rather grand dining room. You were amazed upon seeing the floating dishes setting up the table. Dimitri was at the other end waving his left finger in the air, supposedly controlling the objects' movements. Looking up from the vase they had been staring at, they smiled at you, with a flick of the hand everything sat in place. "Good morning, little rose. How was your rest?" You gave a slight smile before remembering the color change of the room.
"Was I moved to another room?" Your question seemed to even confuse Dimitri for a moment before he made an O shape with his mouth and laugh at you.
"Ah no, no, that is simply another one of my doings. The room changes based on day and night is all," they waved their hand dismissively before sitting down at the head of the table. Tilting your head, you watched them gesture to the chair next to them with a grin. Making your way over your hand glided over the top of the chair before you pulled it out to sit on the grey cushioning. Dimitri smiled and snapped his fingers. The metal lids from the plates vanished, revealing a rather nice feast.
On Dimitri's plates were a good amount of sweets and a lot of foods lacking in iron. On your plates, there was the opposite, plenty of rich and rather delicious looking foods were spread before you. Quickly, you took a fork and dug into a satisfied moan. I left your lips after eating a sample of the eggs. Dimitri gave a simple smile before digging into his own food.
"I'm glad it's to your liking, I'm not able to prepare meals for others often," you only nodded at them before continuing to eat all the food you possibly could. There was a happy silence as the two of you ate, if you had doubts about Dimitri the food easily won you over.
"Now then, if you don't mind, I have a few questions for you, little rose," Placing their knife and fork down, they looked at you. Nodding, you took one last sip of the rather delicious juice in front of you.
"What would you like to know?" After those words left your mouth, it felt like hours of you recalling your journey until now. Of course, some details stayed secret, like the bounty and Asrani's general deal. Dimitri followed along, though. Listening intently until you finished, you were honestly surprised seeing them with a neutral expression for so long."I see, and you still seek out your friend?" He didn't glance at you rather than the window behind you. Nodding, you leaned back into the chair.
"I want to see him again, but I'm unsure where to look," You pressed your hands together into your lap and glanced at your feet from under the table." I have an acquaintance that captains a ship. One of their stops just so happen to be a place for lost things," they drummed their fingers against their chin. "I am confident that place can aid you on this journey. However, the ship won't dock near here until three weeks from now," glancing back at you. Dimitri smiled and stood up from their seat.
"Until then, you can stay here, and I'll personally write the captain so you may join them," with those words you practically beamed, standing up from your seat as well you could barely contain your excitement. Grasping Dimitri's gloved hands in yours, you smiled.
"That would be amazing, thank you!" Taking back your hands, you felt ecstatic. You were one step closer to seeing Ayumu again. Dimitri only chuckled and did a few pats to your head. "Your most welcome little rose,"The first few days flew by, and you were provided with more clothes. The grey ruffled top complimented the dark red corset and black pants. Red boots were also now on your feet. You were practically skipping through the halls, exploring the large castle for the second time. You had learned that Dimitri thrived on curiosity and entertainment. They always enjoyed whatever conversation the two of you would have.
You also were happy to discover the large library until it occurred to you that reading in the world's language wasn't a task you could exactly accomplish well. Taking it upon himself, Dimitri gave you lessons, enjoying being able to teach someone for once. So you'd spend countless hours inside the library with Dimitri assisting you until a little under a week and a half had passed.
Time really flew by here, no not simply in the castle but this odd world. You found yourself missing most of the people you met...excluding that blonde brat of a prince. The thought of him made you shiver. You hated the idea that he wouldn't just leave you be! His butler seemed decent, but his loyalty made you skeptical. You wanted to be suspicious of everyone's hospitality but it really did seem to be everyone that just welcomed you with open arms...Ayumu was excluded to an extent in that considering his initial hostile behavior but to be fair you were in his home.
Oh right...you were learning how to read in this language, focus y/n focus! You glared down at the children's book in your lap. Your brows furrowed as you made out the words in your head. Next to you, Dimitri covered his mouth, enjoying the ever changing expressions on your face. He found his little rose to be very entertaining and adorable.
It almost made him want to take your name and hold power over you just so you could stay their entertainment longer.
They wouldn't, though, probably."Ah, having trouble? Remember, I'm here to help my rose,"
He didn't miss the way you squirmed in embarrassment. It was almost enough to push him to tease you more! Almost.
Though temptation certainly was eating it's way at them.
Dimitri grinned, the slight glint appearing from behind his tinted glasses.Unsettling really, how the very being of such a fragile fake little world could wrap around you like thorns burying itself deep into your flesh. Taking form into a rapidly growing rot that festers and clings to the only real thing in it.
Once again, was your wish really worth it?
