The bunny-thing pierced through Golden Freddy, a stare that sent chills up his body, its large, unwavering grin posed as a threat. It can't hurt me, Goldie murmured to himself, though his eyes bulging wide told different.

The rabbit took a deliberate step forward. This is just a dream! It can't hurt me. Goldie's feet were planted to the ground. The rabbit took another easy step towards him. It's only a dream. Then another. I'll wake up soon. Then another. It's...just...a... The long shadow of the rabbit cast over Goldie, its hand outstretched and prepared to seize him.

Goldie ran as fast as he could.

He raced down the hall, feet slamming onto the tiles, tears flooded his eyes and turned his vision blurry. Goldie heard metal stomps right behind him. The bunny-thing was right on his heels. Lights radiating violet glow flickered in time as he went, producing shadows of a creature so close, it could nearly touch the golden bear. Goldie didn't want to think about what would happen if it did.

No, no, no! The bear was sure this wasn't real. But how could the rabbit be chasing him? What if he never made it out of this nightmare? Would he be trapped here forever? Goldie shook his head. He couldn't think that way. The bear wished more than anything else to be safe. He had to keep going.

A truth deep inside Goldie told him he'd seen the rabbit-thing, once before. That he'd spoken to it, even. More than using its remains in a fruitless scheme of his. It frightened him; that he might've thought of the thing as his friend in the past. ̶W̶h̶e̶n̶ ̶w̶a̶s̶ ̶t̶h̶a̶t̶,̶ ̶a̶g̶a̶i̶n̶?̶ He'd known then the machine had been portable. The bunny's increasing steps behind him were heavy, its movements too fluid to be artificially procured.

Did that mean it really was a man? A highly advanced animatronic? Or some twisted version of both? Whatever it was, it was intent on leaving Golden Freddy with the same fate as Fredbear. And that human inside of him... Something terrible burned in his throat as he pictured it. Keep running.

Fear coursed through Goldie's body, leading him further back out of the diner. He passed the empty stage, he was almost there! He hoped he'd wake up soon, before the rabbit-thing caught him. His metal feet carried him farther, and farther, building a distance between him and the bunny-thing's reach. Short of breath, Goldie quickened his pace, the entrance doors in sight. He crashed to the floor, the rabbit stormed towards him at an alarming rate–he looked back, screamedthe half-man half-creature lunging quick—

The walls shook violently. Light bulbs shattered and bathed the diner in sharp residue. Glass shards penetrated the quaking floor, creating odd shimmers across the diner. Varying colors obscured the bear's vision, objects phasing in-and-out erratically.

Eyes squeezed tight, Goldie blinked at the harsh development, and was met face-to-face with the rabbit-man... frozen in place? Pieces of the ceiling crumbled above him, floor tiles cracked beneath him, the establishment itself nearing complete ruin before his eyes, but the rabbit (its fuzzy paws still threatening to smother his neck) was all but immobile.

As if it was stuck in time.

Forever?

The bear yelped, finally unleashing himself of his shock, and scampered away from the bunny-man. Goldie almost lost balance as the diner shook more forcefully. Overwhelmed by fear, he clenched his jaw shut, fists balled and rigid. Come on! Goldie pleaded to himself. Wake up already! But what if he couldn't? What if this wasn't merely a dream, and there was something more?

Goldie's eyes widened as lights of purple, pink, red and blue circled around him at a flitting pace. Though his body shivered uncontrollably, he practiced unsettled, deep breaths. It can't be. I just need to force myself awake, the bear persuaded himself, wiping at tear-drenched fur.
