"Best Part" Reo Mikage x reader

After Aoi left the house felt quiet which made you kinda miss her though, you noticed that you have been getting your regular sleep schedule back.

However, the feeling of guilt still lingers despite the happenings from years ago. You envisioned Nomi getting married and possibly having a child too bad her life was cut short.

"Hm? Someone is applying here" You tilted your head. "Yeah, they said they need a job." Felix handed you their resume.

A woman who has short hair, big eyes, and plump lips. She's the type of woman that has a girly aesthetic.

"But we didn't put up a hiring poster."

"Well, she said that it's urgent." He replied scratching his head.

"I'll talk to her." You said and when outside the staff room to saw the woman sitting on one of the tables but Reo was cleaning the window.

She was nervously fidgeting her fingers and looking down. You sat in front of her a gave a smile trying to ease her.

"I'm sorry if it is too sudden but I need a job right now." She bowed her head.

"May I know your situation? Mai." I asked her as I was checking her profile and noticed her flinch. Noticing that you thought that you brought up a sensitive topic but before you could say anything she answered the question.

"I don't have the money to support myself. I just got here and I'm looking for a job but all of them said they are full of employees. My rent is almost due and I only have a bit of money."

Considering her situation you accepted her. She beamed in happiness and repeatedly thanked you.

"Thank you so much!" She beamed in happiness. "When should I start working?"

Mai is terrible at her job. The misplaced things in the kitchen, burned the pastries, can't even make a decent coffee. But she's good at managing outside the kitchen.

Serving customers with her sweet smile, moving around like she's been working here for a long time.

You were relieved that you didn't have to fire the girl. You were observing the shop in the corner while the others did their job. You had a smile on your face making sure to keep a good impression on the customers.

As you were standing beside the counter with your hands crossed. Your eyes wandered around the shop. Felix is at the counter, Reo is making the orders, and Mai is serving.

As you followed your eyes to Mai you took notice of a stare of a customer. You made a short eye contact with her but your eyes remained on Mai.

But you can't help but feel her stare so you glance at her again only for you to be correct. You gave her a wave but she remained silent.

Her eyes look dull never turned away from your figure. She's nibbling at her bottom lip as she gazes at you. Her long tangled hair that reaches down her waist looks like hasn't been taken care of. A green crooked dress that seems expensive yet hasn't been washed.

You felt a bit uncomfortable but remained composed. Reo called you into the kitchen to ask for something regarding the recipe and when you came back she was gone.
