CHAPTER 28

Bertie and Jean-Luc's Chase

Told By Mark Morhagan

"Welcome to Sodor, Pop. 75,000, give or take..."

Created by John Andrews

Thomas and Bluey Loved hearing stories from their Magical Friend; Mr. Conductor. He would use his magic to Travel with some of the other Engines of Sodor whenever Thomas and Bluey weren't busy.

Mr. Conductor: You wouldn't believe what happened Yesterday with Edward the Blue Engine, Indy, Jean-Luc and Bertie the Bus. I was on Edward's Train and that's how I know the story.

Bluey: Tell us! Tell us!

Thomas: I wonder what they did.

Mr. Conductor: Oh you'll see. Let me just find my magic Story Whistle. Now let me see... where did I put that... (gets it from his bag) Ah! Here it is! Wedged between my Pocket watch and Ticket puncher. Here goes!

With some Magic Gold Dust, Mr. Conductor Blew into his Magic Story whistle, and began to tell the story of what happened.

Edward and Indy were waiting at Wellsworth Station for Thomas's Passenger train in the morning.

Edward: *whistles* We're late! Where's Thomas and Bluey? They don't usually make us wait like this.

Indy: *singing* Oh dear, what can the matter be? Johnny's too long and...

Mr. Conductor: *appears in a shower of gold sparkle, laughs to hear the end of Indy's tune* Never you mind about, Johnny, Indy! Why don't you climb up on top of Edward's cab and have a lookout for Thomas and Bluey?

Indy: That sounds like a grand idea, Mr. Conductor! *scurries up Edward's side and onto the top of his cab*

Mr. Conductor: Can you see Thomas yet, Indy?

Indy: No. But I do see Bertie the Bus in a tearing hurry. No need to bother with him though. It's likely he's on a coach tour or something. *clambers down back into the cab*

*Edward blows his whistle and departs without Thomas's passengers*

Bertie: Stop! Stop! I've got Thomas's passengers! *stops at the gates of the level crossing*

It was no use. Edward Was already Gone.

Bertie: Bother! And Bother Mrs. Heeler being sick and not helping Bluey with Thomas today. Why did I promise to help the passengers catch the train? *sighs*

Jean-Luc: Ça ira, Bertie. (That'll do, Bertie). A promise is a promise and we must keep our word. Let us hurry! The passengers are counting on us.

*Bertie sets off after Edward on a chase*
