"Welcome to Sodor, Pop. 75,000, give or take..."
Created by John Andrews
It was Market Day on the Island of Sodor, meaning that the engines on the Skarloey Railway had to work hard pulling Extra passengers to Crovan's Gate to exchange with the Northwestern Railway Engines.
However, Peter Sam wasn't feeling well. He needed to be sent to the Steam-works for Repairs. So the Thin Controller, Mr. Percival, let Sir Handel out of the shed. Several days had gone by since he had misbehaved by refusing to pull trucks and deliberately derailing himself.
Sir Handel: I'm glad to be out again, Juniper. But these coaches still don't trust me.
Juniper: They don't trust you because you once called them "Cattle Trucks".
Sir Handel: I'm trying to make up for it, okay? I'm being as nice and kind as I can, but these coaches are being awkward and rude. I've even tried singing little songs, but it's no use.
Then there was trouble!
Juniper: Sheep! Sheep on the line! *blows whistle*
Sir Handel: *checks up and slows down* Whoa! That is most unfortunate. The coaches won't like that.
Coaches: He's bumped us! Let's pay him back!
The coaches knew that All the engines had to go carefully at a Junction near Crovan's Gate. But they were so cross with Sir Handel, that they didn't care what they did. They surged into him hard, and pushed him off the rails! Luckily, no one was hurt, but Sir Handel had to limp all the way back home after he was re-railed. Mr. Percival inspected the damage and was quite annoyed.
Mr. Percival: No more work for you today, Sir Handel. Bother those coaches! We must get the villagers home, and fetch the tourists and the Heelers all without an engine to do the job!
Skarloey: What about me and Lila sir?!
Mr. Percival: Skarloey?! Are you sure you can do it? You're quite an old engine, you know
Skarloey: I'll try my best, Sir!
Mr. Percival: That's a good engine. I knew I could always count on my Number 1. Off you go, then, but be careful.
The coaches stood at the station Platform. Skarloey backed down onto them, hissing crossly. He and Lila had heard what they had done to Sir Handel.
Skarloey: I'm ashamed of your behavior! You could have hurt your passengers, and on market day, too! You should be helping, not causing trouble!
