☆ Reality Check☆Jake ☆

When you snapped at him, Jake just stayed silent for a moment as he tried to process what you said. It then clicked in his head.

He wasn't expecting this at all.
He's used to you being nice and calm, not all sassy like this.

"You.." Jake started but then stayed quiet for a few seconds and spoke again.
"You think I'm purposely breaking our friendship just because I got popular?"

"You've been cancelling our plans for months, Jake!"

He didn't know how to respond to that.
He knew you were right, but he was too stubborn to admit it, too fixated on keeping his reputation as the school's cool guy to bother about your feelings.

Jake crossed his arms, his face expression blank. "You don't think I'm actually busy with practice?"

"Oh, please dont lie to me." You roll my eyes,

"Come back when you realized what you've done!" You yelled

Jake's jaw clenched as his gaze slowly hardened on you.

He was angry. Angry that you were calling him out on his actions. But at the same time, it was partially his fault, and he knew it.

He let out a harsh sigh, then spoke. "You're just going to throw our friendship in the trash just like that?"

He stood there in shock. Now he felt guilty, but he didn't let that show on his face. He refused to show you his softer side again. He refused to be vulnerable.

Instead, he stayed stoic and spoke again.
"Fine. If you're going to just end our friendship just because of something as dumb as this, then it's whatever, not like I care."

"Of course you don't care; you never cared about me after you got all popular." You said loud enough for him to hear.

Jake grated his teeth as he spoke.
His face still in a stoic expression.

"Damn it, I do care." He said through gritted teeth "It's just I have to maintain my reputation around here. If people find out I'm friends with YOU, then it would ruin how they see me."

"Ruin.. ha. RUIN? Jake this embarrassing"

Jake was shocked when you snapped at him once again. He wasn't expecting you to be this aggressive and feisty all of a sudden.

But once again, his ego was getting in the way of his emotions, and he had to keep it cool.
He grumbled, then spoke. "Calm the hell down. Why is this embarrassing?"

"How about you calm your ego down? I hope you know this is all your fault!"

He froze; you mentioning his ego set him off.
Jake's face hardened, and he began to get slightly frustrated. In a calm and stern tone, he answered.

"This isn't my fault. This is YOUR fault. Your getting all pissy at me for something so dumb. It shouldn't affect our damn friendship so much it makes you completely stop talking to me." He spoke once again, slightly getting aggravated.

Jake let out a frustrated sigh, running a hand over his head.

He continued to speak, his tone now starting to rise. "If you would just chill the hell out for once in your life, then we could stop arguing like this."

"And-" he began to speak again, but stopped himself. Jake's expression changed to one of confusion as he realized how badly he was handling this situation.

"Took awhile to realize how stupid you look."
He clenched his jaw again, then spoke in a bitter tone."Just shut up will you?"

"Oh, I will. I won't be around you to annoy you anymore."
