Your body comes into consciousness, heavy breaths filling your ears as your blurry eyes scan your surroundings. You've woken up exactly where you left off; the ground of the forest. Blood trickles down your forehead, staining the grass beneath you.
"Tyler," you mumble before clenching your eyes shut in response to the ringing pain in your head. A groan escapes your lips. Everything hurts.
A choked scream comes from above you, catching your attention. The voice is all too familiar.
"TYLER" you panic, looking up to see your boyfriend's body still hanging limp and impaled by the tip of the tree.
"Y/N.. Y/N.." you hear whispers of you name slip from his blood stained lips between strained coughs like a prayer. As if he is calling out to you to save him.
Your face distorts at the sight of him. "Tyler," you cry, trying to raise yourself from the floor but dropping on your first attempt. You manage to raise yourself on your second one, just in time to hear a faint rustling coming from behind you.
Your head whips around.
'A phantom'
"I NEED TO GET DOWN" Tyler panics, aggressively forcing his body away from the tree. He seems to have noticed it too. "GET OFF ME!! Y/N WATCH OUT"
"I've got it, don't w-" Too busy trying to calm your irrational boyfriend, you don't notice the phantom getting closer until it clenches its claws around your neck, lifting your body off of the group.
