[No POV]
Copper-9, the center of all of J's problems. It summed it up nicely whilst she worked on putting the only good landing pod back together again, no thanks to Cyn tearing it in half. She continued to weld the hull shut, adjusting herself slowly with her wings to not damage the ship anymore than it already was.
Everything was going well until N made friends with a worker that had actually killed her; Her, the best out of the three of them! All because she worked with a numbskull who barely had a functioning processor to begin with! Her brow began to furrow as she flew back to observe her near-completed work.
If they had just done their jobs, as they were told, all of them could've been free, but noooo, they both had to turn traitor for some nobody worker on this backwater, wasteland of a planet. J should feel relieved that Cyn was gone, that damn, corrupt malware was reduced to atoms and no longer had a hold on her life.
"Not like I had a choice working for an eldritch monster," J muttered to the cold air that circulated within the corpse spire, only her voice and the tinkering with the ship filling the void.
But now J was alone. No co-workers, no Cyn, nothing.
Good, now she can leave this planet and never look back. She had enough oil to keep her going until she reaches a different colony planet with workers. She'd work at her own pace, her own quota and have no consequences follow her.
She'd be a nobody, not a single person would even know her name...
Shaking her head, she switched her welding arm back to a normal hand. "What the hell? I'm not seriously feeling anxious, am I? Its always been me, the one to lead, to keep the team on track. N's clueless and could barely function as a disassembly drone, let alone a worker. And V? Pfft, all she gave a damn about is butchering to her heart's content, even after being brought back online, that programming of hers was always there. But no, she wanted to play the victim after Cyn, tch, please, don't act like you didn't enjoy it. Cyn's just an excuse."
It wasn't like she wanted to protect them. Pushing N as hard as she did, clawed at any semblance of praise to keep Cyn happy, to avoid her team from being 'repurposed' beyond recognition! Her jaw clenched, grabbing a barrel nearby to throw it across the interior of the spire, tugging at her hair in frustration, the heat inside her building.
"It's not like I was trying to keep you alive all this time!" Every insult, threat, beating she inflicted on N, a fraction of what Cyn put her through, just to keep him moving. "I... I don't know, I was just... I... it was all for YOUR SAKE you useless, empty-headed piece of scrap!!"
Her foot sent a worker corpse flying as it shattered just from her kick, spraying snow in the process.
"And V!? Ho! You're by far the worst, you bitch...! You go and turn traitor just for N, like that'll make up for ignoring his existence all this time! Oooh, but it was to keep him safe- bullshit it was! You just couldn't look the only good thing in your life in the face after slaughtering just as many people and workers as ME! At least I'm honest about it!
She screamed, throwing her fists high, transforming them into claws to bring them down on one of the defunct landing pods, tearing into its remains violently as she yelled until she felt faint, slamming both fists down to completely flatten the middle section of the pod, sending loose bolts and screws flying into the snow around her.
Only her panting filled the winter air, no other voices, just J and this wasteland.
Her eyes flickered back to normal, staring down at her trembling claws, flexing them shut. "...whatever, you both get to live out your new, happy lives. Leave me in the dust... good riddance, traitors..."
