Chinami Kazane had never really been a people person. Her whole life she found herself blending into the background, a secondary character in her own life. Or, the bitchy rival to the main character. Both were rather fitting. After loosing her aunt...
Bakugou's eyes shot over towards the willow tree, suddenly putting everything together. They were her parents.
"My mom always said that her favourite flowers were tiger lilies, something about them being the same colour as mine and my dads eyes." Without even a second thought, Chinami continued to explain her visit to Bakugou. He knew she didn't have to so why she was still going confused him. Although, he couldn't help but steal a glance at both the flowers and the girls eyes, noting that they were in fact the same colour.
"Uh- So, those heroes, over there, they're your parents?" He asked, tone hesitant. He'd never really been in a situation like this before. Instead of giving a verbal answer, she simply nodded.
"So who do you live with now?" It probably wasn't the smartest thing to just ask questions but it was all Bakugou knew how to do. Comforting had never been his thing.
"Ah, no one. I live on my own." The smile that plastered her face was a great contrast to the obvious sadness in Chinami's voice, she hadn't really spoken about these things for a while and she wasn't about to break down in front of someone she was meant to be cheering up. God, why did she bring this up? She could have lied or something, changed the subject in an attempt to make Bakugou a bit happier and get his mind of Midoriya but no, she had to bring up the fact that her parents were dead.
"You live alone? Isn't that like, I don't fucking know, dangerous or some shit?" The blonde asked, the smallest hint of concern written across his face.
"Well I used to live with my aunt but a couple years back she passed away too. I'm under special watch by the hero commission so as long as nothing bad happens, I'm permitted to live alone." The explanation was quick, Chinami wanted to get off of this topic as soon as possible.
"Anyway, enough about me. How come you're so gloomy, are you still caught up on the whole thing with Midoriya?" Bakugou sighed heavily, the mention of his childhood friend turned rival distracting him right away.
"I guess. It's just, he was so different before, it pisses me off how so much has changed yet he still refuses to tell me shit. There is no way he's a late bloomer. Something is going on and I need to find out." He spat, voice seething with anger. Chinami listened intently, nodding her head as he continued.
"When I was leaving the nerd came running after me, tried to tell me something about that fucking quirk of his. I thought finally I'd know what the fuck is going on but no, All Might came along and stopped him." This made Chinami pause. All Might had stopped Midoriya from telling Bakugou something? Why would he do that if it didn't also involve him? So that must mean that not only had Midoriya got a quirk from no where but-
"All Might has something to do with this. I fucking know it." He stole the words right from her mouth. If they were right about this, then the whole secret Midoriya was keeping was a lot bigger than they first thought.
"Do you know how big this is?" Chinami finally spoke, turning to face the boy next to her. "If we keep an eye on both Midoriya and All Might we may be able to find out what's going on. Whatever it is though, I'm now more interested than before." Bakugou nodded in agreement, pushing away from the tree and standing up right.
"You got that right, this shit is getting fucking weird." He drawled.
"Mhm. I have a small suspicion that this will turn out to be a problem too. If I know anything about hero society and it's involvement with strong quirks, Midoriya might have just signed himself a deal with the devil." Walking over towards the willow tree, Bakugou not far behind her, Chinami had one thing on her mind.
Placing down the lilies in front of the stone plate holding her parents hero names, she knelt down, her face showing no hint of the sadness she felt before.
"Mom, dad, if this is anything like what happened to Kaina I only hope you'll continue to watch over me. Something is stirring within the commission and Izuku Midoriya might just be the key they are looking for."
With one final glance back at the boy behind her, Chinami knew they'd figure this out. They had to.
