William:
That was...interesting. I've never ever seen Liam so panicked. Panic is an understatement actually. He went mental. When did he become so emotional?
Lena was magical. No one and I mean no one has done that to Liam. No one has made Liam care enough about them. All the doctors looked at him like he was some psychotic serial killer. Obviously that wasn't true. I don't think Lena is into that type anyway.
Speaking of Lena I'm terrified for her. What the hell happened to her? When the headquarters got the crash alert I expected Liam to be in a more serious position.
But when I saw them rush her in she looked so damaged I got scared. But now I had to face the hardest part of all of this.
Ava.I don't have the heart to tell her about her best friend and her brother. She's so delicate that my heart would shatter to see her cry.
My finger hovers over the green call button. If I don't tell her who will. She deserves to know about what happened. She's probably worried sick about Lena right now. They're people close to her and we've kept too much from her already.
After so much hesitation I finally click on it.
One ring. Two rings. Three rings.Four rings. Click."Hey William. What's up? Have you seen Lena? I haven't seen her come home last night and she's not home. It's getting quite worrying."
The happiness in her voice when she says 'Hey William.' makes this whole process harder."Ava listen. I need to talk to you...and it's quite important. Are you working today?"
"No. I have a day off today. Is everything okay?" I let out a deep exhale.
"I'll come over in a second. Wait for me." I end the call before she can reply. It wasn't long before I made it to her house. I stood at the front door, hesitating to knock on it.
After too much thought, I finally knock. Within seconds the door opens. She's beautiful. She was always beautiful. With almond eyes and her thick lashes.
The straight hair with highlights of blonde, the elevated cheekbones and those full lips. Everything about her made this more painful than it needed to be."Hey. Come on in." She steps out of the way giving me space to walk in.I step in the house growing more and more nervous.
"Is everything okay? What did you need to talk to me about?"I purse my lips and look down."You should sit down for this."She furrows her eyebrows in confusion.
"William. You're scaring me."She says as she heads towards the sofa. She takes a seat and I go to sit on the sofa in front of her."What is going on? Did something happen? Is it Liam? Is it Lena?"She looks really confused and quite concerned.
"There's been an accident...Liam and Lena were involved. Liam was dropping Lena off coming home and um well yeah."I had to lie.
I hated how I had to lie to her.
But I couldn't start anything. Lena and Liam are all about protecting her. And I couldn't agree more."What! Is that why...This can't be happening. Are they okay? This is some joke right."She was panicking so bad.
"Lena's in surgery. She has a punctured lung and some internal bleeding. The car had mainly hit her side so she faced more damage.Liam on the other hand didn't go through anything as bad as Lena. He had a broken arm and a fractured rib." Her hands were over her mouth in shock. Tears welled in her eyes, threatening to spill over."What hospital? Maybe I can go help them. I have the experience. I know how to perform surgery. I can treat her. I can take care of Liam. I can-"
"Ava you need to calm down. I know this is really difficult for you and it is for me too. But I think we should let the doctors to their job and fix Lena."She stands up suddenly."Calm down? Calm down? You want me to calm down when my best friend and brother are suffering because some idiot couldn't drive."I was too stunned to speak. I know Ava wasn't always going to be so sweet and delicate but right now she showed whose younger sister she is. She mirrored Liam's exact reaction. Apart from the whole psycho mental bit.
"Ava. I understand your frustration but-"
"No William. You will never understand my frustration. Liam and Lena are the closest people I have to me. I c-can't lose them."She's right.
I will never understand her pain."Look. I know this is hard for you but it's hard for me as well. She's in good hands Ava."I would know because we have our company's doctors planted in many different hospitals.
"I want to see them William. I have to see them. Can you do that for me? Can you take me to see them?"Tears were streaming down her face. My heart ached so bad right now."Of course I will."I walk over to her side and pull her into a hug.She grabs a handful of my shirt and sobs into it.
I hold her in my arms letting her cry it out for as long as she wants because that was all I could do now.
