Hailey was sitting in a booth at Scoops Ahoy, like she has done most of the time, since Steve got this job, and unlike other people her age she didn't bother getting a summer job, but she did secretly draw Steve so many times it was crazy.
Since both Mike and Lucas found themselves some girlfriends, she didn't hang out with them as much, her beloved brother went on some camp, a month ago, and would be returning any day now.
A familiar group of children came storming into the ice cream shop. "Hey, dingus, your children are here." Robin yells for Steve who was busy in the back.
"Again? Seriously?" Steve asks, after appearing from the window, staring at the children. Mike was only give a deadpanned look, making Steve only sigh, and led them to the back.
"Come on, come on." Steve says, hoping they would hurry up, so that he won't be caught.
"I swear, if anybody hears about this..." Steve says, sternly, the kids shouted, "We're dead!" Cutting him off, he sighed, going to the front to see his beautiful girlfriends face.
Hailey got up, to stand by the counter, to talk to the two, since they weren't as busy at the moment. "I'm curious, how do you date a guy who has kids as friends?" Robin asks, turning to look at the Henderson girl curiously.
"It's actually the other way around, I use to babysit the four boys, and I did everything with them, making me the weirdest person in high school, and Steve babysat with me one night, I guess he finally understood why I was so overprotective over them all." Hailey explains, but it was obviously Robin didn't believe her, and Hailey didn't dare bring up certain unexplained events.
"Right." Robin says, dragging it out, how could she believe it, Hailey was absolutely beautiful, there's no way she'd be the weird one, hanging out with a bunch of children.
Steve got closer to them after scooping ice cream, he looked at Hailey with a raised eyebrow, she only smiled up at him innocently, acting like they weren't just talking about him.
"I love you." Hailey mouths, the grin on Steve's face couldn't stop growing, that's when the entire mall's electricity went out.
"That's weird." Steve says, going to the light switch, flipping it on and off.
"That isn't gonna work, dingus." Robin points out.
"Oh, really?" Steve questions, and started flipping the switch on and off rapidly, he could be immature sometimes, but it was one of the things she loved about him.
The lights came on, he obviously thought he had something to do with it, as he says, "Let there be light."
Robin looked at Hailey, silently questioning her sanity, but the Henderson girl only shrugged her shoulders.
