But now, after knowing what the real issue is, I have the guts to speak openly. Yes, some writers are going beyond and writing overly mature content, which is honestly verbal p*rnography.
We writers help readers feel and imagine what we’re trying to convey through our words. When we write about a fictional character, readers will naturally imagine the actors who portray them. If I write a scene with deep emotions, like crying, the readers are picturing that actor in that emotional moment. So, when someone writes something inappropriate, it doesn’t feel like entertainment—it’s just plain disgusting.
