~Chapter 69~

Since Felix went to heat, Hyunjin had been more protective towards him. Most of his time he spent with his omega, as Felix didn't even let Hyunjin to leave him even for a moment. It's just like a strange desire, that he wanted to be close to his alpha as much as possible. It soothed him, made him feel relaxed, made his bones to relieve whenever the alpha kept him close, he felt protected.

Due to which Hyunjin hadn't been looking at his other errands of office works, he barely joined his parents for dinner or breakfast, as he didn't left Felix's side for a moment.

Felix was content about his husband giving his all attention to him as much as he craved, as much as he craved for his scent to breathe from relaxation but in the corner of his heart he was feeling like he was digging a hole in the relationships. Because of him Hyunjin couldn't pay attention to his parents and he was for sure what Mrs. Hwang going through.

And it was like that.

It's been a day Felix had his heat going on. Another day of early morning Hyunjin's eyes flickered with Felix slightly whimpering in his arms, his body burning and he kept sweating like he had had a fever.

Hyunjin concernedly checked his Omega, whose eyes were shut but he was squirming by the cramps. He gently placed his hand on Felix's free arms making him slip in a comfortable position.

"Baby?" He softly mumbled to the Omega's ear, Felix breathed out a heavy breath, couldn't be able to respond quickly. Hyunjin's eyes frowned in concern as he got a little tensed, as how Felix's body was trembling.

"Are you in pain?" The alpha asked in concerned, his tone gentle and protective. "A little bit," Felix answered, as he clinged closer to his husband's chest, seeking for more warmth. Hyunjin wrapped his arms on the Omega's waist, pulling him, as he buried his face to Felix's scent gland, and began to croon softly.

Felix whimpered, his lungs suffused with his husband's scent, feeling relax for a bit. They stayed like this for a moment before the door of their room began to make a sound, as someone knocked on it, pulling both of their attention. Hyunjin raised his head to look at the door then changed his glance to Felix. The Omega stared at him with same suspension.

"Let me check," Hyunjin said, slightly pulling back from Felix, even though Felix did not wanting to let him go he nodded.

Hyunjin slid out from the bed walking towards the door and opened it where he saw his mother standing by. Hyunjin relaxed a bit as he saw his mother there. Mrs. Hwang's expression was unreadable.

She craned her head a little to look inside where she saw Felix was sleeping under the blanket, that made her eyes furrowing, "what happened to him?" She asked her son.

Hyunjin changed a quick glance at Felix then answered, "he is in heat mom."
Mrs. Hwang's expression shifted, though she tried to hide it behind a calm facade. Her gaze lingered on Felix for a moment too long, and there was a hint of disapproval in her eyes that she seemed to reserve only for him. Crossing her arms, she raised a questioning eyebrow at Hyunjin.

"So, that's why you've been avoiding us?" she remarked, her tone carrying a sharpness that Hyunjin didn't notice. "You've neglected family meals and important business affairs just to cater to… that."

Hyunjin's brows furrowed, missing the disdain in her voice. He assumed she was only concerned about his responsibilities. "It's only temporary, Mother. Felix needs me right now."

Mrs. Hwang's gaze hardened for a fraction of a second before she softened it, nodding curtly. "I understand that a mate's well-being is important, but there are limits, Hyunjin. You have responsibilities beyond… coddling."
