Long Time No See

"Full Name?"

"Adeline Grace White"

"Birthdate?"

"May 1, 1998"

"Now can you please tell me what happened Brooke?"

"We were at a party and someone pulled out a gun. They weren't supposed to shoot her. You need to call her parents. I didn't mean for any of this to happen, it's all my fault." Brooke was sobbing.

"Okay sweetheart, her parent's are on there way. You need to take a deep breath...this was but all means not your fault and Adeline will be fine." The doctor I'm assuming reassured her.

MY PARENTS? no... they couldn't come here! Brooke had been drinking! I tried screaming and kicking and punching but nothing was happening. I couldn't move.

"WHAT HAPPENED WHAT IS WRONG" My dad, he got here fast.

"My baby..." My mom was crying and stroking my hair. I couldn't see her but I could feel her.

And slowly my vision started to come in blurry.

"ADDY!!!" Brooke jumped right on me.

"Wh-what happened-d?" I asked my voice cracking.

"The gun at the party, do you remember that?" She asked my parents shrieking confirming they had no clue what was going on.

"y-yes" I nodded as I spoke hoarsely, Brooke still on top of me. The doctor pulled my parents out of the room to explain what happened I'm sure.

"Well the man he was aiming for was next to you, and he missed..." She let out sobs. "And he hit you" She looked me dead in the eye.

"So Adeline" The doctor's voice scared me causing me to jump a bit.

"Yes?" I asked getting my voice closer to normal.

"How do you feel on a scale of 1-10? 10 being the worst pain?"

"Solid 8" I said confidently.

"Okay well were going to keep you overnight and give you pain meds. Tomorrow you can have visitors before and after your surgery. And you" she turned to my mom and dad "you guys can come back tomorrow and take her home, but for now you have to fill out some paper work." She said showing a row of glossy white teeth.

"What time is it anyways?"

"1 am" Brooke answered my question.

"okay baby" My dad said kissing my forehead "we'll see you in a few hours." Mom was still standing in the corner, alone. They both followed the doctor out the door.

"I'll text you in the morning" Brooke said setting my phone down in the small nightstand in my hospital room.

"I'm so sorry, I love you" she whispered into my hair.

I pulled back before realizing how bad it would hurt, I shrieked in pain. "Don't blame yourself Brooke, this isn't your fault in any way." I said with tears in my eyes from the pain.

"Goodnight Ad" she smiled or at least tried to smile, she walked out.

Leaving me alone in a large dark room wondering what had led me to this.
