[7] Calm after the storm

"Sorry. It must've been scary, right? I'm sorry for involving you into this" I slowly frowned at his apology. "You don't need to apologize, Draken-san. It couldn't be helped, you guys were ambushed, and we were too"

"I'm just glad you're alive" I smiled. We then heard the door opening. "Draken-kun!"

"I'm here to visit ya'!" There goes that dumb looking vest and purple shorts Takemichi was wearing. "H-hanagaki-san?!"

Draken clicked his tongue. "How the things goin'?" He waved as he walked closer to the bed. "Y-you look like a thug wannabe, Hanagaki-san..."

"Quit acting like a jackass" Draken bluntly said. "E-eh? How am I acting like one?"

"It's written all over your body" Draken replied, making me and Mitsuya chuckle a bit.

"Don't get carried away just because you get a little attention, dumb*ss!–" He added. Takemichi slouched disappointingly. "–That's lame" he added another remark.

"You would never understand, Draken-kun, Aomori-san!" Takemichi took off his purple glasses. "Just how I feel living under the shadow"

"-Huh? Creep" Takemichi jerked up, "I've never been looked up by anyone before!" As he ran to Draken's bedside. Leaning close, it made Draken's head back away. As the scene took place, I only laughed, suggesting to Mitsuya that we should go now.

We said our goodbyes to Mitsuya and Draken and went off with what we were supposed to be doing.

"It's nice to just walk around and enjoy the scenery," I say, breaking the silence between us. Mitsuya nods in agreement, a small smile forming on his lips. "Yeah, it's a good way to clear our heads, especially after what's been going on lately."

As we continue to walk, I glance up at Mitsuya. "Not to bring it up again, but you really are tall, Mitsuya-san" I say with a small teasing smile.

Mitsuya chuckles, glancing down at me. "And you're really small, Aomori-chan. It's like the universe decided to make us opposites."

"A-aomori-chan?" I blushed a bit, which made Mitsuya panic as well.  "I-is 'Aomori-chan' too much?"

"Well- you usually just call me 'Aomori', but it's fine..." I touched my cheek, chuckling sheepishly.

We continue walking, the bustle of the city fading into the background as we stroll through the park. Mitsuya slows his pace, allowing me to walk beside him in unison. The cool breeze carries with it a sense of peace, and I find myself relaxing in his presence. As we approach a bench, Mitsuya gestures for me to sit down.

"Let's take a break. We've been walking for a while," Mitsuya says, eyeing the bench. I nod in agreement, and we sit down, taking in the tranquility of the surroundings.

Mitsuya stretches his arms, looking out over the view of the park. "You know, I think this is the most relaxed we've been in a while. It feels good to just take a moment to breathe"

We sit in silence for a moment, simply enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the park. Mitsuya's gaze lingers on me, and I can feel his attention focused on me. "I'll poke your eyes out if you keep staring like that" I huffed.

"H-hey, I'm not looking" Mitsuya chuckles, but there's a hint of embarrassment in his expression. "Hm, should I call Hakkai here? He's been worried about you ever since the fight finished"

"I see no problem with that. Speaking of which, are your injuries okay?" I asked.

He nodded. "Yeah, I'm feeling much better now. I've been taking care of myself and resting a lot"

"That's good to hear" I nodded, and he was now dialing Hakkai's number. After a while of waiting, Hakkai had came to the park. "Hey, Taka-chan! Aomori-chan"

Hakkai seated beside Mitsuya. "Hello, Hakkai-san" I smiled. Us three ended up hanging out the whole day, until the sun sets. Hakkai and Mitsuya were taking me home, under the moonlight. It was peaceful, and calming, as if none of those chaotic things happened. "Hey, Aomori"

I hummed, wondering why the serious tone all of a sudden, turning to Mitsuya. "I'm afraid there'll be another time where they target you. People like Moebius might still be after you... Then there's this new gang called Valhalla. Few of its members were former Moebius members, and I know for sure they know your affiliated with us" Mitsuya said.

"It'll be dangerous for you to be out and all that by yourself" Mitsuya added.

Wait... Don't tell me...!

"You'll be under Toman's wing from now on. We'll protect you" Mitsuya looked at me. "I appreciate the offer... But isn't that more risky? To have me with you guys at all times?"

"Kind of, but it's better than you going by yourself. If ever, you'll be with us when something happens" Mitsuya softly smiled, patting my head.
