{flashback}

The young Zero gripped his neck after began bitten by Shizuka and collapsed to the ground. Shizuka kneeled before him as he groaned with pain.

"You look like a child, yet you make such an expression...you are the second person who has faced me with such strong emotion." Shizuka said as Zero gave her a glare.

"Shizuka. If we don't go soon, we might be caught by the Council." Ichiru spoke. "Youre not regretting, are you? After finally carrying out your revenge." Ichiru said.

"Ichi...ru..." Zero groaned, then Shizuka placed her hand on Zero's head.

"I am fulfilled, Ichiru...because I got my revenge on the Kiryu family...and also because ive gained an interesting thing..." Shizuka proclaimed.

{end of flashback}

"Until that day...you had always acted as if you hadn't realized, Zero. That those parents were gradually becoming meaningless beings to me...and that Zero whom I loved very much...I actually have always hated." Ichiru explained, the tone of his voice getting serious. "By the way, I want you to thank me. It was me who asked Shizuka to keep only you alive." he smirked with confidence.

"Because after making me suffer, you wanted to kill me with your own hands..." Zero announced, causing both you and Yuki's eyes to grow wide.

"That's right..." Ichiru snared as he approached Zero and leaned close to his ear. "Have you suffered enough having your life twisted by Shizuka? Have you suffered the way Ive suffered?" he asked. "Shizuka also changed my life...don't you think Pureblood vampires who have such power are like gods?" Ichiru asked.

Blood splattered all over the floor.

"You do not seem to be much surpeised..." Kaname said, his hand still through Shizuka's chest.

"No...I have been thinking of taking your life as well...by other means...I was planning to make Yuki Cross an assassin." Shizuka explained, her expression looking plain.

"I see...that's a wise decision..." Kaname said as he slowly slid his hand back into Shizuka's chest, her eyes grew wide. "Do you feel that? I am holding your heart. If I take it out right now...can you imagine what will happen?" he asked. "Right now, you do not have the healing power due to Zero's gunshots and (Name)'s cut." Kaname said gripping Shizuka's heart. "Even though you are a Pureblood being, you may cease to exist..." he finished.

"What a dirty trick...you presumed this would happen and were waiting for the opportunity, weren't you?" Shizuka snared, as blood trickled down her kimono.

"Yes. It is foolish to try to outwit an unhurt Pureblood...because if Purebloods are equal, then, a battle would just inflict harm and end up with a stalemate...but I still wanted that pure blood of yours. You needed my pure blood as well...that is why you tried to make use od Yuki, am I right?" Kaname exclaimed.

"That girl's only value to make her a 'piece'." Shizuka said with a smirk. "And her 'sister' (Name) as well. Something has caught my attention about that girl, something dark and bloody. I feel like you know something about her but you yourself aren't so sure about it." she added, then Kaname loosened his grip on her heart a little and she smiled. "You don't only just care about Yuki, you care for (Name) as well. I can tell." she said, then Kaname gripped her heart even harder. "Well I cannot resist any longer. Only 'death' awaits the loser of this game...if you let me live, one of those girls will die in my place one day." she finished with a snare.
