If He would Just Notice! (Colossus x Reader)

They headed down for breakfast, smiling like two silly school lovers, hand in hand. (Y/n) saw the face that Negasonic did when they arrived, she could almost feel the joke in the form of judgment forming inside her head. She looked at her friend with narrowed eyes, almost warning her to not spoil that calm morning. She also saw the look that Cable was giving them, he didn't say anything, but his discomfort was noticeable.

They ate breakfast calmly, talking about training and old missions. It was quite a tranquil morning, the woman thought, and she jinxed it right away when Negasonic's phone went off. She explained what was happening quite fast and got up to ready herself, together with Yukio, Cable and Colossus.

However, (Y/n) entered a shock moment, not even hearing what the girl said. What if that was Colossus' last mission? Was it a good idea for him to go? How would she stop him from going? She got up quickly and extended her hand to the group, trying to think fast about what to say.

"A-ah! Piotr!" she shouted, but when they turned to her, her face became red and she started stuttering "W-what about y-you don't go, huh, C-Colossus?"

"And why would I do that, tigritsa?" he asked, turning to her with a confused face.

All her teammates turned to her too.

"Y-you need some rest, don't you think?" she asked, shrugging a bit.

"This mission needs more X-men than we have here. All help is accepted." and so he turned away again, walking fast to the jet.

Her colleagues looked at her funny, not quite understanding what was the point of her not wanting him to go. They slowly began walking again after Colossus, but Cable had a sad expression on his face. She approached him hoping to get help.

"Please, Cable. Don't let Piotr leave." she begged him.

"I don't even think I can do that without us fighting. I don't think there's anything that I can do here." he sighed "It's best to keep your eyes open to any danger towards him." and walked away too.

She sighed sadly, how would she prevent anything if he would be at the center of the battle, if there was any. She headed to her room, changing clothes quickly and joined the others on the jet. No one talked about her little strange question earlier, they were probably just focusing on the mission.

The situation was quite similar to the one with Russel, a few kids have had enough of the abuse and torture that they were suffering and decided to kill and burn all the staff and the building. They arrived when almost all of the building was on the ground. Most of the kids were sitting on the ground watching the place burn and crumble, all of the staff was already gone.

Colossus had to stop for a few seconds, deciding what to do with the kids and how to approach them. The giant soon thought that maybe a friendly approach would be best, since they were too violent a few moments ago. The group decided to let (Y/n) talk to the kids, she didn't want Colossus to go and all the others would seem too strange to keep a normal conversation without the kids becoming aggressive again.

She walked slowly at them, seeing that they were too interested in the fire. She suddenly heard something coming from behind her, like footsteps or a movement on the ground. The woman turned quickly and managed to grab the wrist of the person. She didn't expect it to be a small boy flying in the air.

"Ow!" the kid said, floating to the ground while still being held by the woman.

"Are you okay, sweetie?" she held his wrist softly on her hand this time, crouching down to be at the same level as the kid.

That seemed to make the boy stop for a bit, he wasn't expecting her to become soft and kind all of a sudden. However, that did not change his mind for what he was about to do.

"You won't be." he answered as the woman felt another presence behind her, but, this time, she didn't have time to react.

Another child, she could tell by the small hands, placed their hands on her head. And she blacked out, rolling her eyes to the back of her head and falling face first on the ground.

She heard someone calling her from far away, soon becoming quite close. Her eyes opened slowly, her vision blurry for a few seconds. She started to see Negasonic shouting something at her. She couldn't make it out, she was still deaf from that kid's power. She tried reading her lips, she had a distressed face, the only word she managed to get was 'Colossus'. That made her heart sink. She hurriedly stood up, losing her footing for a few seconds. Ellie tried to hold her arm and Cable walked fast to her, ready to catch her if she started falling.

However, her mind was on only one person: Piotr. She looked around, still seeing most of the things blurry, but she managed to see a big ass shiny thing lying on the ground. She ran to it, throwing herself to the man's side as soon as she got there. She grabbed his arm, holding his biceps on her hands and squeezing them.

"Colossus!" she tried to shout, but her voice too seemed to be affected by the power "Colossus!" she tried again, this time coming out louder "Piotr, answer me!" she started to feel tears coming to her eyes.

The other X-men gathered around her, watching the scene carefully.

"Please, don't leave me." she held his face in her hands, her voice finally coming to its normal volume "I need you more than anything. I love you so much, honey." she sobbed, lowering her head down "P-please..." she whispered as her cries grew harder and louder "You can't go now, not yet!"

Cable approached her, touching her shoulder softly. She didn't move an inch. He tried to talk to her, but either she ignored him or she still couldn't hear.

"(Y/n)..." she was finally able to hear, but the voice wasn't coming from Cable.

She opened her blurry eyes and looked at Piotr. He had his eyes open and was looking at her, trying to understand what was happening.

"I-I..." she started crying hard again "I thought you were dead!" she hugged his neck, burying her face on the hot metal.

"Why would you think that?" he looked at her head, then looked at Cable, who shrugged "And what did you mean by 'yet'?"

"W-well..." she lifted herself from him, her hands stopping at his chest.

"That conversation should happen at the mansion." Nathan turned to head to the jet.

"Who are you to interrupt our conversation?" Colossus tried to get up, but his legs were still jelly.

"He's right, Piotr." she helped him get up "Not here." she looked seriously at him, which showed that she wasn't kidding.

He finally nodded, all of the mutants walking to the jet to head home.
