"You're late." The boy said. Chan didn't bother and pushed past him inside.

"I had to finish some council work Jisung." Chan said setting down his things on one of the table before he crashed onto the single bed, automatically feeling the difference in mattress.

"Yah, even the mattress tells me the difference between our class." Chan teased his other friend who was busy on his desktop.

"I know right, Changbin has a quilt for winters." Jisung busted out laughing, pulling out his phone as he settled besides Chan.

Han Jisung was the kind of guy that everyone wanted to be friends with. He wasn't super talkative and he didn't engage with many people. Now to mention that he doesn't even go to school that often to engage with them anyway, but those who knew him were aware of his laid back and chill nature.

He was a guy with long dark brown hair, wearing oversized clothes, always had his headphones on and survived on coffee and instant food for the most of his life. However ever since coming across him, Chan had made sure that Jisung got out to eat the school food at least once a day.

Sharp with his tongue and often lost his manners with his temper, a bit too quickly for Chan's liking. They had their own disputes when they first met with Chan's rigid habits and Jisung's tendency to do things last minute.

But he could swear that Jisung was one of the most soft hearted person he had ever came across, especially when during their first year, when they barely knew each other, Jisung accidently found out that it was Chan's birthday. Chan had never told anyone but when Jisung showed up drenched in rain, outside the school library where Chan was studying with eyes filled with tears, he was really worried.

That day Jisung had cried into Chan's arms saying about how could Chan not tell them about his birthday and how he has to study even today. Jisung had bought a cupcake while still crying and made Chan blow on the candle before Chan split it to share. It was weird, comforting Jisung for crying because he didn't celebrate his own birthday.

He doesn't know too much about the guy, his past or his personal life... well other than the fact that Han Jisung was a bloody genius in writing lyrics and rapping.

"Chan-ah we just finished writing that part," Changbin spoke, slipping down his headphones. " have a look at it. It's for the track you created the other day... what was it called..? Ah! Runner's High."

Yes, that was the big secret Chan hid from everyone.

Ever since he could remember he had loved music. For as far back as elementary school, Chan remembered listening and catching onto the beats. Making mental notes on how many different layers are there, even if he didn't understand what beats or layers fully mean. His house had no way for music to enter, the television were always busy screening news and he had never heard his mother humming anything.

It was almost destiny when he was chosen for the choir in his elementary school. He listened to other people sing, his teacher introduced him to different rhymes and children's song. He was quick to catch onto beats and started listening more music. By the time he was in middle school, he had scavenged through the different genres, pop, EDM, rock, classic, dubstep... anything he could his hands on.

That dream was quick lived when his grades dropped in his midterm examination during middle school. His father confiscated his iPod, his earphone and his laptop once the news fell on his ears. He wasn't allowed at the family dinner table for over a month and was forbidden to talk with his siblings. He remembers being grounded for three months, until he had gotten his grades up again.
