Giving Henry a sign

Emma came back into the cave a couple minutes later and in came Mary Margaret and David, you could tell something happened but Blair just went back to looking around. That's when she saw Killian and Emma pull a sheet and pillow off some sorts off a ledge in the cave to see tally marks in groups of fives but there were several.
"Whoa."
"What is it?" David asked and Blair went over to look at them.
"It appears Neal and Cyrus marked his days trapped on this island." Killian said and Emma hopped up on the ledge.
"What's wrong?" Mary Margaret asked walking over. "Look here. Neal and Cyrus stopped counting." Emma said pointing to where the dashes ended.
"Because he got off the island." Mary Margaret said.
"Clearly not." Blair said.
"She's right, they were here longer." Emma said.
"Then why would he. . ." "Because they lost hope." Blair and Emma finished David's sentence.
"You got that from scribbles?" Regina asked and Emma hopped off the ledge.
"I got it because it's what I did every time I went to a new foster home. Counted days until counting seemed pointless." Emma said.
"I mean come on Baelfire or Neal I guess was here for a long time, and Cyrus never even left. Even if it was Cyrus who stopped counting being trapped for centuries with no way out, you lose any hope you have." Blair said.
"You think the same thing's happening to Henry?" David asked.
"Pan said that it would." Emma said.
"Hey. We're going to rescue him." David said.
"Yeah, I know that, and you know that. But Henry doesn't know that. Pan wants him to lost faith." Emma said.
"So what? You want to send him a message? Because I haven't seen a Neverland post office. What are you suggesting?" Regina asked.
"We take a page from Pan. And we start being clever. We need to send a simple sight. A sign that we're coming." Emma said.
"With Lost Boys running around trying kill us all?" Regina mentioned.
