The boy turned around and Jungkook could see only the eyes behind the mask and the hoodie and in a second his smile turned to a grin. He was right! This was Han Jisung! But wait! What would he say to him? What would he ask him? Should he just sit down next to him? Should he shake his hand? Should he bow down?

Before he could get any of the answers for his questions, his legs came to a halt right besides the two boys. Very awkwardly, he blinked and the two boys looked up at Jungkook, even more confused than he was.

And there it was... awkward silence. Jungkook just stood there, near their table, straight as a log and barely breathing. It was growing more and more uncomfortable by the second but Jungkook couldn't muster up words.

"Uh.. hi?" The guy in front of Jisung spoke, confusion evident in his voice.

Jungkook looked at him straight in the eye dumbfounded expressions. He was a good student, someone fluent in Japanese, Korean and decent at English. THEN WHY CAN'T HE MUTTER A SINGLE COHERANT SENTENCE FROM ANY OF THEM?

"Do you need something bro?" Jisung spoke irritated.

"Absolutely not! Don't call me that!"

It took Han Jisung to use one word to break all of Jungkook's La-la land and he replied back with a furious voice. His brows furrowed, looking totally disgusted.

It took him a whole.. solid minute to realize the turn of events and he cleared his throat. Trying to stop the rush of blood to climb up his face as he tried to hide behind his hair.

"I.. um.. well.." He maimed like a fucking dumb sheep. "AH!" The idea stroked him, but his sudden outburst of energy made both of the guys jolt up.

"I uhh.." He cleared his throat. "You're Chan's friends right? I was planning on throwing a surprise party for him so yeah.. wanted to invite you."

He patted himself on his back mentally, he was a genius! Well, he was using Chan's birthday as a cover but still, he can ask that much right?

"Oh.. well, " The other guy stuttered. "We're not very close."

"I'm inviting everyone from the batch... well those who stay in the dorm." Jungkook was quick wit thinking of an answer.

He had to physically restrain himself from staring at Jisung for too long because he wasn't really talking. The two seemed to be reluctant about agreeing like an underlying fear of something. So Jungkook knew he had to push them emotionally somehow.

"I've known Chan for long enough... I know he doesn't celebrate his birthday." He said in the most sincere voice he could muster up. "But I want to make sure he has some good memories of it before all of us part ways."

And Jungkook observed how their faces changed. Even though Jisung's eyes were the only thing that were visible, he looked deep in thought. He grabbed the cup of americano sitting on the table, pulling down his mask and taking a sip.

Jungkook just stood their gaping like a dumb fish from those animated movies. Enchanted by how surreal a person can look barely awake with their bed hair.

"Hmm, okay." Jisung replied. "We'll be there."

Jungkook saw the ghost of a smile dancing along Jisung's lips and he couldn't help but feel his heart beat a little faster in his chest.

"Can I have your number?" The words spurt out from his mouth before he could think about them.

Jisung looked taken aback, eyes blinking at the direct statement, unsure of the reason. Jungkook's doe eyes widened when he heard his own words, how in the world would he justify that?
