"Uh.. I mean, I'll call you when it's ready... and... and.. Yeah! I'll probably need someone to keep Chan busy when I decorate the room for him." He smiled theethly, like a dumb bunny, praying that they bought it.
Jisung cleared his throat awkwardly, looking away and grabbing his phone.
"Here," He opened the phone and stretched it out for Jungkook to give his phone number.
Their fingertips brushed ever so slightly and Jungkook felt little flowers blooming in his stomach. He dialed his numbers with a dumb grin on his face. While the two gave each other weird looks. Jisung called upon the number once Jungkook handed back the phone and surely Jungkook got Jisung's number too.
"Name is Han Jisung." He introduced seriously and Jungkook couldn't control his smile.
"I know." He answered. Jisung's eyebrows rose in surprise.
"You do?"
"Mhhmm." He simply nodded,
"Didn't think the sports star would notice a boy who barely comes to school.." Jisung said almost laughing at himself. Jungkook placed a hand on the table, leaning down, his black hair falling on his eyes while he looked directly at the squirrel boy."It's hard not to notice with those eyes of yours."
"Huh.." Jisung let out a confused taken aback sigh, eyes wide but Jungkook had already pulled away with a smile.
"See you guys later." He smiled, keeping his cool and walking away to where Yugeom stood before.
Both the roommate walked out of the cafe, but the second they stepped out Jungkook's legs gave away and he dramatically fell on his knees with an awestruck smile on his face.
"Shit! Kook!" Yugeom panicked trying to get the boy on his feet but Jungkook looked like he was high. The boy just stared at his phone with the number of his crush and Yugeom wondered if he should call a psychiatrist.
Now that Jungkook had some sort of advancement in his love life, he was better in the morning practice. His oxytocin and serotonin at their peak and he scored a total of five out of nine goals. His coach was left speechless, his teammates were confused. Jungkook's performance had been so unstable, like a heartbeat.
The previous few weeks he was playing like he was on a death bed with no will to live. Barely made the mark and often gave out in fatigue. His sleep schedule was all messed up, he had dark circles under his eyes. Sometimes the ball would pass by right next to him and he would look at it like an idiot and stand there not doing anything.
While he was the goal keeper, he would just stand at one place sometimes, lost in his own world, yawning and rubbing his eyes like a child. His coach had thought that Jungkook was going through the depressive state every athlete goes through at some point in there life, so he had cut him some slack.
But today was the complete opposite! It was like someone had kissed their snow white awake who now played like he was out their to enjoy. The opponent team found it hard to cope with his energy and finally when the game was over Jungkook laid down on the grass, still smiling ear to ear like an idiot.
"What's gotten into you Kookie?" One of his teammates asked, panting like crazy as they sat down on the grass.
Jungkook didn't reply, he didn't feel like ruining the sound of Jisung's voice that was constantly replying itself in his ears.
"Jeon Jungkook." A somewhat familiar voice called him. The said boy propped up on his elbows and saw Hyunjin standing there panting still, a mischievous smile playing along his lips.
"Let's go for a walk to cool off.." He suggested, half chuckling. Jungkook could sense the underlying meaning and so he nodded, taking Hyunjin's help to get up from the ground and they both left.
