Shoto's POV:
"They've already moved into your building, sir. They were gone for a few weeks but they've returned. They all seem to have settled in. What are your orders?"
My brows furrow at the update I got from one of my soldiers who works at the new apartment building. I was debating how long I should wait before I also move in. I wanted to be closer to the boss, but it didn't seem like the boss and I were on the same page.
A sigh escapes me and I reply to the text. "Keep me updated on their movements and tell the others to focus on their training for the time being. Be on standby."
"Yes, commander. I have received your orders." I put my phone away after that, sitting on the porch of the Todoroki mansion with Fuyumi. We were currently drinking tea after I had just gotten back from training.
"You'll be going to U.A. soon, Shoto." I look up at my older sister, who smiles brightly. The bruises on our skin had now faded away with time and it felt like the wounds in our hearts had also healed. "You'll be going with those three boys that come by often, right?"
Fuyumi didn't know much about my relationship with the boss and others, but we decided to keep it that way. She was always worried about something, so we always did our best to make sure she didn't know about our line of work. "That's right. We've been waiting a long time for this. I won't be home as often now that I'm a hero student."
"Oh, that's a shame.. You know you're always welcome to come by and train or study with your friends here. Just let me know beforehand so I can prepare food and snacks for them." Fuyumi takes a sip of her tea and our father steps out into the garden.
He looks at us, seemingly annoyed by how relaxed we were. Even with our history, I was no longer afraid of him. No one can paralyze me the way Izumura does at this point. My training sessions with Izumura made me realize that no one was scarier than he was.
If he was broken and bruised, he would just get himself healed and start training again. He would surely have scars all over his body if it weren't for Rewind. He never stops working towards getting to the next level. He was a monster, and I would serve him until the day I die.
"You look tired." I state, sipping my tea calmly. Father clenches his fists, clearly picking up on my provocation. Ever since Izumura came into our lives, he's been having consistent nightmares. I found out from Toga that it's because she was having fun using Izumura's face to scare him at night, pretending to be coming after his life. I found it amusing, so I never told the boss.
Father takes a deep breath, knowing better than to take his anger out on us by now. He used to lose his temper at first, but Touya caught it on camera. We each had a hard drive with evidence of his abuse, in case he ever decides to rebel. He worked for the boss just the same as I did, as our official alibi.
"Father, would you like some tea..?" Fuyumi offers him a cup of tea and he sighs, accepting it. I think Fuyumi was the only one of us foolish enough not to hate father for everything he's done to us.
I receive a text message from Toga and my brows furrow a bit, since she doesn't usually contact me unless we're on a mission. "The boss says to send me Endeavor's phone number." I couldn't help but feel bothered by the message. Why didn't he contact me directly?
Without questioning it, I send her father's phone number. Not even a minute later, his phone rings. I raise a brow, curious to know what was going on. "Fuyumi, please leave us for a while." She nods and quickly leaves, knowing father and I often discussed things related to my work in private. "Speaker." He glares at me but obliges, answering the phone and putting it on speaker.
