Natasha went to Columbia rather than Dartmouth with her older twin sister so that she could grow as a person and discover who she was away from Meredith. While there, Tash met three people who would have an impact on her life: Addison and Derek Shepherd who did their best to sway her to each of their specialties while she was there and Mark Sloan who ended up having the biggest and most permanent impact on her life in the form of their young daughter Matilda whom everyone calls Tilly.
Tash moves back to Seattle with Tilly to help her sister with their mother and balance her life as a mother and a surgeon. She also makes sure that Tilly and her father talk at least once a week, but is unaware her New York life will follow her to her home town
