Nova-

"What?" He sounded confused.

"I don't want to have to say it again Denis."

"What hospital are you at?" He asked frantically.

"I don't know. The one closest to our house. I have to go. I'm going into surgery." I hung up on him as I began to cry again.

"Are you ready?" The nurse asked.

I shook my head no.

"I will never be ready."

Denis-

"Denis come to the hospital, the baby is dead." Nova sobbed on the other end of the phone.

It couldn't be.

There was no way.

"What?" I asked, stunned.

"I don't want to repeat it again Denis." She cried.

"What hospital are you at?" I asked frantically.

"The one closest to our house. I have to go. I'm going into surgery." She cried.

I knew exactly the one.

I grabbed my keys and shook the boys awake.

"Get up. We are going to the hospital. Nova needs us." I threw clothes at them, hurrying them to get into my car.

"Denis what the fuck is going on, why are we up at four AM?" Ben asked.

"Nova lost the baby." I sighed.

Nova lost the baby.

My baby.

I let a few tears fall from my eyes and turned, punching the wall.

"It's not fair." I said, looking at the hole in the wall.

"Come on. Let's get to her." Ben grabbed my keys from me as we piled into the car.

I gave Ben directions as I looked out the window.

What did Nova do to have all of these terrible things happen to her.

We pulled up to the hospital and parked, we all ran in stopping at the front desk to see what floor Nova was on.

After we found out she was on the fourth floor we all got into the elevator, me tapping my foot nervously.

What would I say to her?

I hadn't seen her in three months.

"You must be here to see Nova." An old man stood up, approaching our group.

I nodded.

"I'm Ben, this is Cam, Sam, James, and Denis." He shook the man's hand.

"Denis?" His eyes lit up.

I nodded.

He pulled me into a hug.

"It's so good to finally meet the man that my granddaughter loves so much."

"We uh...weren't exactly on the best terms." I frowned.

"Sit with me and we will talk." He gestured to a bunch of chairs, we all nodded, sitting down next to him.

"Nova still loves you. She would give anything to have you back, she's just much too stubborn to say anything."

"Sir, I messed up so horribly. How can I ever make it up to her."

"Love her. And don't do it again." He chuckled.

"Now all of you are her family. And when I go, she's all you have. Take care of my girl for me."

"We will sir. We promise." Ben smiled.

"Are you all here for Ms. Reed?" A nurse came into the waiting area.

"Yes." We all stood up, waiting for word on how she was.

"Her surgery was successful and she can have visitors."

"That's great." We smiled.

"But, she has not spoken since she woke up. She refuses to talk to anybody. Don't push her too hard." She suggested.

We all nodded.

"How many of us can come see her at a time?" We asked.

"For now, one."

We looked around seeing who should go.

"Denis." Her grandfather volunteered me.

Everybody nodded in agreement as I walked down the hall to Nova's room.

I peered into the doorway, seeing her laying on her side facing away from me, her shoulders shaking.

She was crying.

"Nova?" I walked into the room, sitting in the chair as she faced away from me.

She didn't turn towards me or show any sign of paying attention.

I lightly placed my hand on her shoulder, causing her to flinch away, I pulled my hand back quickly.

"Nova, it will all be alright." I whispered.

She shook her head, handing me a crumpled up piece of paper that was in her hand.

I opened it up to see an old ultrasound.

"That was my baby." She sobbed. "That was our baby." I put the paper in my pocket, letting a few tears fall.

She grabbed my hand and laced her fingers in with mine.

"I really don't want to be alone right now." She whispered.

I stood up and laid down in the bed next to her, turning her around and holding her tiny body to my chest.

"Neither do I love." I kissed her forehead.

She clutched onto my T shirt and cried.

"Please don't ever let me go again." She cried.

My heart broke.

I had left her so vulnerable.

So scared.

"I promise you I won't."

We laid like that for hours, tangled in each other's arms content in just holding each other in silence.

"Nova?" I asked.

"Yeah?" She responded quietly.

"Marry me." I whispered.

"What?" She looked surprised.

"Being apart from you for these past three months has been the most difficult time of my life, and I know how much I messed up. I know how badly I hurt you. But I love you Nova, and I am ready for anything life throws our way. I want to spend forever with you in my arms." I bit my lip. "Be my forever Nova."

"Y....yes." She answered surprised.

I smiled.

I couldn't entirely fix how I had broken her heart, but this could be the start.

"Did I just hear what I think I did?" James ran into the room.

"You brought them all?" Nova looked surprised.

I nodded.

"This family is forever."

"I love you all so much." She whispered.

"And we love you. Now Denis let go so we can hug her." Cameron smiled.

I pouted, letting go of Nova and letting the lads hug her.

"This family is forever." She whispered.
