It's a Game of Life! ?

A few days have passed since the encounter with Lightning Dust. Rainbow still felt uneasy and was always on guard but that didn't stop her from having fun and enjoying her time with her friends. But the more time she spent with Soarin the more she couldn't deny the growing feelings for him. But she won't say that out loud obviously.

Currently they are in their music class. They were waiting for their music teacher Miss Melody to arrive. She is a sweet and kind teacher but she is a force to be reckoned with.

"Oooh i can't wait what today's task will be. I loved the last music class here. It's much more fun than in our school in Cloudsdale!" Surprise's squeaky voice rang out. The rest of the Wonderbolts agreed.

"Alright everyone let's begin the class" all the chatter died down the moment Miss Melody's voice rang out.

"Today we're gonna be having a little competition among ourselves and I'll tell you all an exciting news at the end of our class." An excited murder rang throughout the students gathered but everything stopped as the teacher cleared her throat loudly.

"Alright for now everyone will be paired up in teams of two and have to sing a duet. It can be of any genre but it has to be pleasant to the ears. You can choose whatever instrument you like. Yes you're gonna be playing AND singing. You'll have ten minutes to pick a song and get a little practice. The teams will be picked through the traditional hat method." as soon as she finished everyone started talking about who there partners might, who they want and who they don't want.

"You know, it would be pretty romantic if Dashie and Soarin here sang a little duet together." Rarity said with a wink motioning towards the two standing beside one another. She earned a glare from Rainbow and an amused look from Soarin.

"Well she's not wrong though." Misty agreed."Uhh I mean think about it. He's a famous a popstar and you're a great singer, you'll make a perfect duo" but quickly added as she saw Rainbow shoot her an even bigger glare, smiling sheepishly in the end causing the others to burst out laughing.

"Dude you didn't complain to Rarity's remark so does that mean you want to sing with Dash?" Lightning Streak asked with a mischievous smirk. Everyone soon mirrored his expression and turned to Soarin. Even Dash looked at him with a curious expression.

Soarin's eyes widened a little as all the attention was suddenly on him and quickly replied: "Why not? I mean she and I are friends and she is a good singer but not as good as me though. So sure I'll like to give it a try"

"Ha! You think you're better than me, model boy? We'll see about that. But sure why not, you're right and it will be awesome to do a duet.... As friends." Dash replied snarkily even though her heart stung at the word "friends". Soarin felt the same.

However all their friends had faces that looked like they wanted to kill them both. Rarity, Fluttershy, Fleetfoot, Blaze, Lightning, Wave and Misty all looked like they were about to blow up their heads, it's a wonder steam wasn't rising from their ears. Sunset, AJ, Spitfire, Silver and Rapidfire were all trying hard not to slap them both. Twilight and Fire both facepalmed and wore exasperated expressions on their faces while Pinkie and Surprise both looked like they were trying not to throw cupcakes at the idiots. All the while Dash and Soarin were both wondering what the looks their friends were giving them was for.

Both of them glanced at each other and then back at their friends. "What?"

Before any of the others could reply Miss Melody told them to be quiet and listen as she started picking names from the box. Dash was barely listening though, her mind was pretty occupied. I guess Soarin only sees me as a friend, not that I mind though... or do I? Why do I feel so confused!?
