I feel like I'm drowning

Start from the beginning

As her soft blankets covered her body, Maisie felt her eyes get heavier and heavier. Eventually falling into a deep sleep.

MAISIE FELT LIKE SHE HADN'T SLEPT A WINK

When her eyes shot open, her clock read the time 1:30 pm. How could anyone have let her sleep this late?

She shot out of her bed and hopped they hadn't started a meeting or special demigod mission without her. Almost tripping over air while attempting to cram her feet into her converse, Maisie rushed to the top deck.

Once she got to the top deck, she realized they were no longer in the sky; they were sitting in the middle of the ocean.

"Whats going on?" Maisie asked. "I thought we were going to Atlanta?"

Jason turned to her, a blinding smile on his face. "We decided to take a break today! Just to have some fun."

"Fun?" Maisie asked incredulously. "We have a quest to do. Annabeth!" She called out, "You're okay with this?"

She had her arm wrapped around the waist of her boyfriend, enjoying the view of the ocean. She turned to Maisie, a relaxed and laidback look on her face.

"Don't worry, Maisie," she said. "Let's just have some fun for once!"

Maisie nodded suspiciously at Annabeth. It was weird to see her so relaxed. It was probably because Percy, Jason, and Leo were now back to normal.

Speaking of Leo, where was he?

Frank and Hazel sat on one side of the deck, playing some card game that Maisie couldn't recognize.

Jason sat on the ground next to Piper, who wore a pair of sunglasses was soaking up the sun.

"Hey, where's Leo?" Maisie asked Jason, who was the closest person to her.

Jason looked back and forth before replying, "I dunno. Probably working on something below deck. Come relax with us!"

Maisie let herself be pulled down by Jason and Piper as she felt the sun warm her skin. Her eyes closed as she let out a sigh of contentment. She could get used to something like this.

Suddenly she felt her body shiver, and she could no longer feel the warmth of the sun.

Her eyes opened to find that the sun was now blocked by a never ending sea of clouds, casting a gloomy shadow on the Argo II.

Everyone else looked to be as confused as she was, gazing around with matching looks of bewilderment.

Maisie was about to question what happened when a shrill sound, sounding almost similar to a car horn or trumpet, erupted out of nowhere.

The Romans on the boat visibly paled, standing and scrambling for weapons. Maisie didn't have to wait long to find the answer as to why.

In the near distance, at least 10 ships filled to the brim with angry Roman demigods came rushing towards their ship with 30 Roman eagles approaching quickly form the sky. The battle horn only grew louder and louder.

Everybody scrambled for weapons. Maisie could only wonder where Leo and Coach Hedge had disappeared during this.

When she went to summon her axe, she found that her brass knuckles were no longer in her fingers. Crap. She must've left them on her bedside table.

She searched her pockets and around the deck for a dagger, sword, bow, really any kind of weapon she could get her hands on.

Unarmed and vulnerable, Maisie could only hope her powers could help her through this since the Romans were quickly approaching.
