The Spider in the Metal Web: Transformers Prime

The sky was a bright blue as the sun shined over an abandoned cave. Right now, Miko and Jack were outside the cave while Arcee, Bulkhead, and Dreamweaver were currently inside investigating an energon signal. Miko was growing impatient as she paced back and forth.

Miko: We're supposed to be at a rock concert, but all I see is... rocks.

Jack lets out a yawn as he leans back against a rock.

Jack: Relax, Miko. The show doesn't start for two hours.

Miko: Do you know how long I've waited to see Slash Monkey?

Jack: Uh...

Miko: Forever! And it's their only U.S. date!

Jack: There's a shock. I mean, who doesn't love obscure Bulgarian shriek metal.

Not long after, the Autobot's come out of the cave, with Bulkhead holding an energon tracker in his servos as it beeped.

Arcee: By all appearances, the mines been stripped.

Bulkhead: But I'm getting a signal. It's faint, but it's definitely energon.

Dreamweaver: I lived my entire life in Cybertron's underground cave system as an Arachnicon scout. I know how to search for energon, and my spark is telling me there is some in there.

Arcee: Doesn't make sense. This operation's been abandoned four, maybe five years, and Decepticon's never leave energon behind.

Dreamweaver: Well, I have three theories. One: The energon might be buried too deep to mine under normal circumstances. Two: A Decepticon might be stashing a hidden supply for their own use in there. Or three: Our scouter is broken. Though, my bet is on number two.

Arcee: Why two?

Dreamweaver: When you're in war and don't want the enemy stealing your stash, or you're just not willing to share with comrades, you hide it somewhere no one can find it. My buddy Spinneret did it. Though, she didn't do a good job at it. Then again, I'm guilty of that, too.

Before Dreamweaver can continue, Jack spoke up to get their attention.

Jack: Uh. guys?

All three Autobot's turn their attention to Jack, who points towards the cave entrance. They turned to see Miko running inside the cave.

Miko: Cool!

Arcee: She went in. Unbelievable.

Jack: Really? Have you met her?

Dreamweaver: Bulkhead, I thought you said you would be stricter with her.

Bulkhead: I'm trying. It's not my fault she has her head in the clouds. *Sighs* Miko, get back here!

Bulkhead quickly runs back inside to find his human partner.

Dreamweaver: If she gets hurt in there, that's not on us. We tried to warn her.

Dreamweaver quickly runs after him, leaving Arcee and Jack outside.

Jack: It would be kind of interesting to see. You know, if it were-

Arcee: *Interrupts* Safe? A stripped mine can be structurally unstable, Jack.

Jack: I promise to step lightly.

Arcee thought for a moment before coming to a decision.

Arcee: Just... don't tell your mom.

With that, Arcee and Jack went back inside the cave. Unknown to them both, up above the skies, two familiar, but not friendly jets, descended down as they both transformed midair, revealing themselves to be Megatron and Starscream. Both Decepticon's landed on the ground as they looked at their surroundings. Starscream, in particular, seemed rather confused.
