So, it's the end. It's the last chapter. Ever since I joined the Armed Detective Agency, it's been a fun, sometimes annoying rollercoaster of emotions. I've wanted to leave many times, but I'm happy I didn't. These last few chapters have been so different—we never even went on missions! Honestly, blame that on the writer.
"Uhm, Sigma, I think you should stick to the script."
Script? I didn't know we were supposed to use a script! Anyway, to put the "last" in "last chapter," we're going to go through all the one-shots and reminisce about my time at the Agency.
I'm making it sound like I'm leaving the Agency. I'm not.
The first one-shot was from when I joined the Agency. Although you only got a small snippet, the story was much longer. First off, when I first joined, I got lost because I didn't know which floor the main office was on. I ended up going to all the floors and still couldn't find it. So, I gave up and went to the café. That's where I met the Agency members, who were lazing around eating cake.
"I wouldn't say lazing around; we were working!"
Working? Sure, if "eating cake competitively" counts as work now hush, Atsushi, and let me tell the story!
"What's going on here? Ooo~ Are we telling stories? May I join?" Huh?! Kenji, when did you get here? "Hm? I've always been here." Anyways I'm telling them about my first day at the agency. "OOHH! I remember that story! I can help tell it!"
Uhh...... okay...?
That day, I actually woke up early and went to the Agency. That's when I saw Sigma walking around the building. I didn't know what he was looking for, and it was my first time meeting him.
Wait, I don't remember that happening!
"Did you really forget? After talking for a while, I took you along with me on a mission, and we got ice cream afterward." Ice-cream? are you sure Kenji? "Yes, it did. I can't believe you've already forgotten."
don't think it ever happened.
"I wouldn't be shocked if you've forgotten already since you're actually only four."
Shut up, Atsushi.
"Huh? What are you all doing here? You have work to do!"
Wait, Kunikida! Why are you here? And we actually don't have any work to do right now. Besides, it's the last chapter—we've gotta do something special. "We're telling stories, Kunikida. Join us."
Uhm! Isn't Kunikida busy with work or something?!
"I actually just finished my work for the next few hours, so I can spare a few minutes to tell a story or two."
UHM... I guess so...??
"Back in the days, you know I used to be a math teacher before I started to work in the Agency."
You used to be a WHAT?
"A math teacher. I thought it was already established." Established when? "He wasn't around for that episode, Kunikida." What? "Oh yeah! That was when Atsushi first joined."
I have a lot to catch up on, don't I?
"Like I was saying, being a math teacher doesn't sound all that scary, but it's a traumatizing experience I wouldn't wish upon my greatest enemy. Except maybe Dazai."
Of course.
"There was a time, when the students decided to test the patience of their teachers in the most ridiculous ways possible. One time, they changed all the numbers on the classroom clocks to hieroglyphs. Another time, they swapped out the chalk with cheese sticks. Although my students weren't troublesome there was a time when they rigged my desk to explode glitter everywhere the moment I opened it. Took me three months to clean out my desk, and even now, I find random sparkles on my clothes."
