When A Part of You Family is Missing

As soon as I lost the sheriff, I headed to the closest pharmacy. I grabbed a bunch of cold medicine. Ones I know Scarlett can take. Plus other medicine the kids might need. I then grab a bunch of first aid stuff. Then I jump in the truck to head to the bunker. I am actually looking forward to spending time with my bride and kids. It's only been a short time, but I miss them already. As I'm driving i see the low tire air tire light turn on. I should have already had this fixed. But I procrastinated like I usually do. So I pull over and go to grab my spare. It's in the back of the Durango. Where I have the guy tied up at. I look around to see if anyone can see me. When I see no one around. I grab the guy and toss him in the back seat. I can tell he is awake now. But I can also tell that he has lost a lot of blood. I make quick work of the tire change. Then I go to pick the guy up. When something falls out of his pockets. When I look what fell. I see it is his phone. I got to the text messages and see he texted his brothers. Plus I know now this is Luke. I also can see how the other two are doing. When I see that they are tracing the call. I get back in my truck, then drive to the next truck stop. I walk over to a semi and throw Luke's phone in the back of it. Then I get back to the truck. Then drive to the bunker. It about two hours away still. So even if they traced his phone to here. They will be taken on a wild goose chase. When I get to the bunker I grab Luke and drag him into the bunker. I can tell he is almost at deaths door. In fact with out care he might not make it through the night. When I open the door to the bunker. My son runs up to me and gives me a huge hug. He runs back to Ruby because he is scared from the bleeding man I am holding up. I set luke on the small cot in the entryway. Then I tell Ruby to grab some warm water and some towels. She helps me clean Luke up. I take off his bindings where he looks like he is just sleeping. I bandage and stitch up what he needs. I then explain to Ruby what she needs to do when I leave. Plus I give her antibiotics and pain medication to give to Luke when I leave. I then grab the medicine for Scarlett and go to our room. But not before making sure to handcuff him to a ring that is cemented to the floor. Now it's time to get Scarlett feeling better. I need some her and I time before I have to leave them again. So I give her the two medication she can take. Then I make sure she drinks some chicken broth. I also leave her about 20 Gatorade mixes for them. Each mix can make 30 gallons of Gatorade for them all. Then I go to check on Ruby and the kids.

Narrator

When Randy goes to check on the kids. He helps Ruby feed Ava and Eva. Then he makes food for him, Ruby, and Joey. He even leaves some chicken soup for Luke. After everyone has eaten. Randy goes back to his and Scarlett's bedroom to sleep. He knows he must leave in a few days. But he will make the time with his family count. When everyone goes to sleep. He goes out of the bunker. Then grabs the carpet that was in the trunk. He burns it so there is no evidence left behind. He grabs the new carpet he bought last month and lays it down. He cleans the blood off his trunk. Then he goes back inside the bunker to sleep till morning.

Scarlett

As I wake up I feel like I was hit by a truck, then ran over by it. I got to cuddle with Joey, but he is not the person laying in bed with me. Instead it is my worst nightmare. Randy is up looking at me. He grabs the thermometer. Then takes my temperature. He tells me it looks like my fever has broke. He kisses me, then tells me to get dressed. Then meet him in the kitchen for breakfast. Then he walks out of the room. Why is he back already. Why can't he just stay away from us. I bite down my feelings and get dressed. Then go to wake up the girls and Joey. When Ruby and Joey sees me. The run and hug me. The girls are also smiling up at me. As I am changing their diapers. I hear a painful moan comming from the infirmary. What i see scares me. I see a man with bandages and blood on him. When Randy looks up and sees me. He walks over to me. Then tells me that I have to nurse this man back to health. He tells me his name is Luke. That he is actually a guy whose has been searching for me and Ruby. Then Randy grabs the twins from me. He puts them in their swings with a bottle. Then goes to make everyone's plates. He gives me some tea, toast, and chicken broth. Then he puts some chicken broth and Gatorade on a plate. Then takes it to Luke.
