"Would this damned lock just budge!" I mumbled, pushing all my weight against the screwdriver I had shoved between the door and frame.

In all my years of living in this flat, I couldn't ever remember having this door open, and it was beginning to get on my nerves. Ten years and I had been using four rooms instead of the five I paid for.
Old Tom, an American who had moved over to the flat across from mine, had even tried to open it, and he couldn't either! Blimin' good lock-smith he was.

I groaned as I jammed the screwdriver in as far as I could before I heard a click.

"Finally!" I said with relief, stepping back from the door and wiping my brow with the back of my hand.

"What time is it? Oh, that's fine. I have an hour before I need to meet Mitsuki." I breathed, looking at the clock on the wall, "Now, what on earth is in here."

I pushed the door open, looking around. It looked like a child's room, All Might figures on shelves running around the walls of the room. They were all covered in a thick layer of dust, and the plastic faded. It could be passed as totally normal, but it wasn't at all.

"How could the past owners have left behind an entire room of stuff? A child's as well.."

I went over to the bed, running my hand over the covers. They must have left in a rush. The bed was unmade with half the sheets and a pillow on the floor. It even looked like they had left the child's plush behind. It was laying beside the pillow. I picked it up, sitting down on the bed after wiping away some of the dust. The plush itself was covered in dust, the colour almost invisible under it.

I rubbed its face, revealing it was a small black cat.
I took a clean tissue out of my pocket, wiping off the rest of the dust. It was tattered, over loved. It was a pity, it was obvious that the child had loved it.

I set it back down on the bed, standing up and walking over to the chest of draws. Pulling open the second draw, I took out one of the jumpers. I coughed, clouds of dust billowing from the fabric.

"Oh god, these really are caked in dust." I choked, dropping it back into the draw and pushing it shut.
The label caught on the outside of the draw as I slid it shut. A glance at it made me freeze.

Black Sharpie ink was on the label, slightly bled from being washed but still legible.
Izuku M. was written across it in my handwriting.

"Izuku.. that name is familiar." I muttered, looking around the room.

Izuku.. Izuku.. Izuku?!

My eyes flew wide, hands beginning to tremble. This was Izuku's room. My sons room. Where was he..? Where's Izuku?!

I rushed out into the hall, slipping on my shoes haphazardly, grabbing my phone and keys before dashing out of the door.

"Aizawa, listen to me!" I pleaded, fist banging on his desk, "Izuku is in danger."

"Inko, I do not know who Izuku is."

"He is my son?!" I cried, tears of frustration beginning to spill down my face, "Izuku Midoriya, aged sixteen, quirkless. He was kidnapped six years ago, and"

"Inko." Aizawa said sternly, rising from his chair, "I apologise, but I do not know who your son is. I never knew you even had a son. So please, leave me in peace so I can get on with the paperwork."

Aizawa sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose in exasperation.

"I can not help you find someone who doesn't exist. If you had any proof at all, I would happily come over to help tomo-"

"Brilliant! I do have proof! Come on, you lazy ass hero!" I shouted, grabbing his coat and bag from the hook by the door, shoving them into his arms and dragging him through the halls of UA.

"Inko, I am busy!"

"Oh, Hush Shouta. You dealt with me all through middle school. You can deal with me for a bit longer." I huffed, wrapping my scarf around my neck.

Shouta and I had gone to middle school together. However, we had lost contact for a few years whilst he went to UA. We started to message again a few years after he graduated UA, when Izuku was born. From then on, we met up a few times (though it was difficult living so far away).
When I learnt, Izuku was quirkless.. I just had a sick feeling. The doctor had injected the numbing cream into him. It is supposed to be rubbed onto the skin if it is a needle. And the substance wasn't normal.. it looked so wrong.

It took me so long to find a job back in Nagasaki, and each passing day made me feel worse and worse. When I finally did, I moved there as fast as possible, hoping to keep Izuku safe. Shouta and I met every day, though I couldn't tell Izuku, he would think I was cheating on his father, even if he had passed away. We gathered all the information we could on different gangs.
Many incidents of children were missing, and those born without quirks were around at one point. But they all seemed to be forgotten.

Oh god, it was so stupid of me. We had been looking at it for years, and I had failed to stop it from happening to my son..

"Here." I said, shoving the jumper into Shouta's hands.

He looked at it blankly for a second, "Why have I been given a children's jumper..?"

"Read the label!" I exclaimed, taking his bag and coat and dumping them on the sofa.

"Oh fuck."

"Yes. Finally. Now, please help me! It has been six years. Who- who knows what could have happened to- to.." My voice trailed off, tears falling down my face.

"Inko.."

"I'm a horrible mother.. I forgot about him.. he has been in that horrible place for years and no-one has went to help him.." I gulped, sinking onto a chair.

"Inko, look at me. I have been gathering information for the last thirteen years - the police force even longer than i have -, the police even had reports of quirkless children going missing since then. A young hero in the older class reported seeing a young girl, covered in bandages, dragged back into an alley before disappearing all together. They know exactly where this was, so we might find Izuku there as well." Shouta said sternly, taking his laptop out of his bag.
"We have no idea what goes on in that place, but there is a high chance of it being an experimentation facility. There was an abandoned one in the area from when quirks first came about, so the kidnappers may have made set up there."

Shouta opened the laptop, opening an email to someone, typing in the message hurriedly.
"For all I know, Izuku may still be alive. It is not a guarantee, but if a child, younger than he was, is alive there. That might just be all the hope we need."
