Unsafe Night

The camp was quiet as the pups rested in their makeshift sleeping quarters. The city's distant hum provided a constant backdrop, punctuated occasionally by the clatter of construction on the Ultimate Lookout. Misty stirred in her sleep, her sensitive ears twitching at the faint sound of movement. She opened her eyes, squinting into the darkness.

A shadow shifted near the edge of the camp.

Curious, and slightly uneasy, Misty rose to investigate. Blaze had always teased her about being overly cautious, but something about this didn't sit right. She stepped carefully, her paws barely making a sound as she neared the perimeter.

"Hello?" she called softly, her voice barely above a whisper.

The reply was immediate and sharp—a hand shot out from the shadows, wrapping around her muzzle before she could scream. Misty struggled, her paws flailing against her captor's grip, but another figure appeared, binding her with swift precision. Her heart pounded as a dark van pulled up silently.

Before she could fully process what was happening, Misty was shoved inside, the door sliding shut with a metallic thud. The van sped off into the night, leaving no trace but a faint tire mark on the pavement.

Blaze bolted upright in his sleeping bag, his ears twitching. Something felt wrong. He looked around the camp, his sharp gaze scanning the dimly lit area.

"Misty?" he called out, his voice still husky from sleep. There was no response. He checked her sleeping spot, finding it empty.

The realization hit him like a ton of bricks.

"MISTY!" Blaze yelled, his voice slicing through the still night.

His panicked cry woke the rest of the camp. Ryder and the pups stumbled out of their tents, concern etched on their faces.

"What's going on, Blaze?" Ryder asked, his tone urgent.

"She's gone!" Blaze shouted, his accent thick with distress. "I can't find Misty anywhere!"

The team quickly mobilized, fanning out to search the area. Blaze ran from corner to corner, sniffing desperately for his sister's scent. His normally calm demeanor was replaced by frantic energy, his tail lashing as he muttered to himself.

"She wouldn't just wander off," Blaze growled, his voice shaking. "Something's happened. I know it."

Rocky stepped up beside him, placing a steadying paw on his shoulder. "We'll find her, Blaze. We'll figure out what happened."

Blaze shook his head, his frustration boiling over. "I should've been awake! I should've—"

"Blaze, stop," Marshall interrupted, his voice firm but kind. "This isn't your fault. But we need to stay focused if we're going to bring her back."

Zuma, who had been combing the perimeter, called out. "Guys! Over here!"

The team rushed to his side, where he was pointing to faint tire marks near the edge of the lot. Blaze's eyes narrowed as he crouched to inspect them.

"A van," he muttered. "They must've taken her in a van."

Liberty appeared with her phone, pulling up the city's live traffic feeds. "If we're lucky, maybe the city cameras caught something."

Blaze paced anxiously as Liberty worked, his claws digging into the pavement. "Come on, come on..."

Finally, Liberty let out a triumphant bark. "Got it! A black van leaving the area about ten minutes ago. It's heading toward the docks!"

Ryder stepped forward, his expression calm but intense. "Alright, we need to move fast. Marshall, Rocky, you'll come with me. Blaze, I know you want to go, but we need you here in case they double back."

"No way, mate!" Blaze snapped, his voice cracking. "That's my sister out there! I'm not stayin' behind while she's in danger!"

"Blaze," Ryder said firmly, placing a hand on his shoulder. "I get it. But if we all rush in, we risk making things worse. Trust me, we'll bring her back."

Blaze's ears flattened, and he let out a low growl, but finally nodded, albeit reluctantly.

As Ryder and the others prepared to leave, Blaze sat on the edge of the camp, staring out into the city lights. His mind raced with thoughts of Misty—her shy smile, her unwavering support, the way she always had his back.

"Hang in there, sis," Blaze whispered, his voice filled with a mix of fear and determination. "I'll find you. No matter what."

He stood, his jaw set. If waiting was all he could do for now, then he'd make sure he was ready to fight when the time came.

In the shadows of Adventure City, Misty's fate hung in the balance, and Blaze's protective instincts burned brighter than ever. The Steel Claw had made a grave mistake—they had underestimated the bond of siblings and the resolve of the PAW Patrol.
