The streets of Adventure City were quieter than usual, the late hour leaving the city wrapped in a peaceful stillness. Marshall and Everest strolled side by side, their nightly patrol nearing its end. The air was cool, and the faint hum of distant traffic accompanied their soft pawsteps. As they rounded a corner, Marshall suddenly stopped. Ahead of them stood a small, nondescript garage, its metal door reflecting the moonlight. He blinked, a rush of familiarity washing over him.

"Everest," he murmured, nudging her gently with his paw. "Do you recognize that?"

Everest tilted her head, squinting at the building before her icy blue eyes lit up. "Oh, wow. That's the garage! The one where we... you know."

Marshall's cheeks flushed under his fur as he nodded. "Yeah. Where we confessed."

The two padded closer, stopping just outside the garage. The door was slightly ajar, revealing a shadowy interior that looked almost untouched since their last visit.

"Feels like a lifetime ago," Everest said, her voice tinged with nostalgia. "I remember being so nervous. I thought I'd mess everything up."

Marshall chuckled, his tail wagging slightly. "You? Nervous? I was the one tripping over my words the whole time."

Everest laughed, leaning against him playfully. "It was cute, though. I wouldn't change a thing."

Marshall smiled, his heart warming at the memory. "Me neither. That was one of the best days of my life."

They stood in comfortable silence for a moment before Marshall shifted awkwardly. He cleared his throat, his paw tracing small circles on the ground.

"Everest, can I... can I talk to you about something?"

She turned to him, her ears perking up. "Of course. What's on your mind?"

Marshall hesitated, his gaze dropping to the ground. "I've been thinking a lot about the future. About what happens after all this... after the PAW Patrol."

Everest's expression softened, and she took a step closer. "Go on," she encouraged gently.

"Well," Marshall continued, his voice wavering slightly, "I know we've talked about retiring someday, and, uh... I was wondering if... if you'd ever thought about having, you know, pups of our own?"

Everest's eyes widened in surprise, and Marshall rushed to fill the silence, his words tumbling out in a nervous blur.

"I mean, I know it's a big thing to bring up, and we don't have to decide anything now, but I just... I've been imagining what it'd be like. To settle down somewhere quiet, maybe in the mountains, and... and raise a family with you."

He glanced up at her, his ears flattening slightly. "But if that's not something you want, I understand. I just—"

"Marshall," Everest interrupted softly, her voice steady despite the emotion behind it.

He froze, his eyes searching hers nervously.

"I think that's a beautiful idea," she said, a warm smile spreading across her face.

"Really?" Marshall's tail began to wag hesitantly.

Everest stepped closer, pressing her nose gently against his. "Really. I've always loved the idea of having a family someday. And with you? I can't think of anything more perfect."

Marshall let out a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding, his face breaking into a relieved grin. "You mean it?"

"Of course I do," Everest said, her voice brimming with affection. "You'd make an amazing dad, Marshall. Our pups would be the luckiest in the world to have you."

Marshall felt his chest swell with emotion. "Everest, you always know how to make me feel like I can do anything."

She nuzzled him affectionately. "That's because you can. And we'll figure everything out together, just like we always do."

Marshall leaned into her touch, his heart pounding with joy. "I don't know what I did to deserve you, Everest, but I'm so glad I found you."

Everest chuckled softly, her tail wagging. "I feel the same way, fire pup."

The two stayed close, the quiet of the night wrapping around them like a warm blanket. In that moment, all the challenges and dangers they faced seemed far away, and all that mattered was the love they shared and the future they dreamed of together. As they stood there, the old garage bearing silent witness to their deepening bond, both Marshall and Everest knew they were ready to face whatever came their way—together.
