After the attack and rescue you were out cold with a severe concussion and some internal injuries for a few days. Even before fully waking up in the hospital, you were swinging in and out of consciousness.

The day you woke up you were surprised to see a tuft of white and red hair sleeping in the seat just next to your hospital bed. His arms crossed as his head leaned forward, his soft breathing could be heard.

"Todo...roki...?" You said faintly causing the boy to stir before slowly opening his eyes.

At the sight of you awake his eyes widened as he jumped from his seat and rushed towards you. Before you could get another word in you felt his arms envelope you in a tight but gentle hug.

It came as a shock at first but you felt the warmth and protection they provided, slowly leaning into his embrace while wrapping your arms around him weakly.

"I thought I'd never see you again... I almost lost you," he mumbled into your neck as he reached up to carefully hold the back of your head trying to hold you closer.

"It's alright Todoroki... I'm ok" you mumbled as tears began to well up into your eyes

The boy leaned away from you to see your face. You had bandages wrapped around your head and some gauze on the small cuts you sustained. His hands held onto your fore-arms gently as you looked up to see his face— there were tears brimming his eyes as he held his head low with guilt.

"I let this happen... I should've been paying more attention. You wouldn't have ended up like this... he- they took you away." He mumbled regretfully,

"I don't really remember much of what happened before I woke up with the League, but I know it wasn't your fault... one minute I was walking behind you protecting Bakugo, and the next- I didn't have control of myself... Seems like I was hit in the head pretty hard though huh Todoroki?" You chuckled lightly trying to make light of the situation

"Shoto," The boy said looking up to meet your eyes

"What?" You replied in confusion

"Call me Shoto..." he repeated, a visible tint of red appearing on his cheeks and ears,

"Ive been thinking about this for a while but... ever since the USJ I felt the need to protect you. It made me angry because I didn't understand why, so I took it out on you and the class during the Sports Festival. For some reason, seeing you injured in any type of way made me angry... seeing other people speak of or to you negatively made me furious. I just didn't understand it. My sister picked up on it when I brought you to my home to study... According to her she saw it almost immediately. Even then I wasn't quite sure what she was referring to but... after the attack and seeing you so injured- I think I get it now... (L/n), I was so unbelievably worried about you, I couldn't think straight during the attack. I couldn't accept that you were taken away and I fought to get you back. But I didn't. I failed and you ended up getting kidnapped. The moment Kirishima and I found out there was a tracker used by Yaoyorozu to locate the villains... I didn't have to think twice. I was going to get you back..." The boy confessed as he looked away from you bashfully,

"I think I like you... but not like our other friends. Sure I like them too, but you seem to consume my thoughts in comparison... I asked my sister and mom about what that meant after the attack... they said it was love? But I've never felt this way before... so I'm not entirely sure how to describe it," the boy continued before being cut off by a reassuring embrace

"I think I understand what you mean... and I like you too Shoto," you whispered, hugging him tighter as to distract from the overwhelming blush on your face

You suddenly pulled back from the boy and flicked him in the forehead causing him to wince slightly,

"That's for being so reckless," you said with a pout, you then leaned in closer to the boy placing a soft peck to his cheek, "and that's for coming to rescue me," you blushed as the boy stared at you dumbfounded.
