☆ ☆ Y/n POV ☆ ☆
I walked back into the room and saw the entire group go sit together and decided to join them. "Oh, you made it." Jun-Hee smiled at me and I nodded "I'm glad to see you all." I smiled at them all and I felt a presence behind me. I knew who it was, especially as his hand rubbed down my back and lingered on the small of my back for a second longer than would be considered necessary. I leaned into him slightly and his chest hit my back lightly. I was going to lean back forward but his hand landed on my side, pulling me back so I was fully standing against him. "We need to do something." Gi-Hun spoke up and everyone looked at him "Like what? We're kind of trapped in here." I said and felt In-Ho's chest move with a slight laugh at my attitude. "There's going to be a fight tonight. The other team is going to come after us." Gi-Hun said it like it was a fact. And my face contorted in confusion "How do you know that?" Jung-Bae spoke up before I could. "The guards didn't take all of our forks. But even now, the tension is worse than ever." He looked down at the floor and I saw a bunch of people leave to go to the bathroom. A few from the 'leave' vote group but most from the stay group. I eyed them suspiciously as they all disappeared into the hallway. Gi-Hun started forming a plan but I wasn't really listening, focusing on In-Ho behind me. His left hand rubbing my arm and his chest rising and falling against my back as he breathed. It calmed me, having him so close to me. "Sound good?" Gi-Hun was looking at us now and I just nodded, unsure of anything he said. And he nodded in response. I looked over my shoulder at In-Ho in confusion and I saw a small smile cross his face and he grabbed me by the elbow walking a few feet away. "You weren't listening, were you?" He questioned watching my face intensely and I just shook my head and looked at the floor as he laughed slightly "Just follow me tonight, okay?" He asked and I nodded and then all the people from the bathroom came back, a bunch of them covered in blood. What the hell happened in there? I noticed not everyone who entered came out as the intercoms struck to life "Players 230, 401, 299, 331, and 268 have been eliminated." Holy shit. My eyes widened and I stepped closer to In-Ho as the O's looked at us angerly. All the X's huddled together even after lights out and once it was dark enough for us to go unnoticed In-Ho grabbed my arm and dragged me away to a flipped bunk bed near the side of the room "What are we doing?" I asked as I looked at him "Waiting. And we won't get attacked here." He spoke calmly, like always. I nodded and thought to question his motives but decided to just question the plan "So what's the plan?" I asked quietly to not alert other people to our spot "We're going to wait for the guards to come clean up after the fights and we're going to take their guns." He looked over at me and he could see the worry on my face "don't worry. You can stay behind here. I've got it." He nodded at me as he said it. And I sat down on the ground fully and put my hand on his back as he faltered slightly in his footing trying to stabilize him. He gave me a small smile and we could hear the fight starting, people screaming and things being broken. I closed my eyes just hoping we wouldn't get found out back here. My hand on In-Ho's back tightening into a fist. I could feel his eyes on me before one of his hands went to mine, lacing together our fingers, the lights turned on suddenly, and I heard the metal doors creak open and some sort of weird scanning sound as as In-Ho jumped out from behind the bed we were hiding behind. I heard a gunshot and immediately stood up, fearing the worst. I couldn't see In-Ho anymore but the guard was unmistakably dead on the ground. A bullet would trough the side of his head and clean out the other. I walked forward and saw more guards entering the room with their guns out, a few of the other players started shooting the ones they could and I heard In-Ho call my name behind me, I turned around as fast as I could and saw him standing there, gun strapped across his chest. As soon as I saw him I started to walk to him, each step motivating me to reach him more than the last. I was maybe 5 feet from him when I got grabbed by the back of my jacket. Falling backwards mostly as I was dragged away. It only took a second for In-Ho to raise the gun and shoot the guard that grabbed me, running over and grabbing my hand to help me up and pull me behind him. As I looked at the guard on the ground I saw that he was shot right in the forehead. I knew something wasn't right with him, his willingness to kill that man in Mingle, his seemingly emotional distance when he was talking about his wife and unborn kid, his calmness in the games, and his assurance that I would be safe and he would be able to protect me. The pieces just didn't fit together yet. The realization scared me a little, unsure of who he really was and what his motives were. I started questioning everything I thought I knew about him, the only thing I was sure about was that he wanted to protect me.
