The weight of the world had begun to take its toll on Taehyung. The constant battles with his uncle, the mounting pressures from the company, and the growing distance between him and Jisoo all felt like too much to bear. He couldn't ignore the subtle changes he'd noticed between them.
Jisoo had been distant, lost in her thoughts, her conversations often trailing off into silence, since the visit to his parents. And Taehyung, despite his usually stoic nature, could feel it. Their connection, once filled with moments of playful intimacy and unspoken understanding, had started to fray.
He missed her...truly missed her. The warmth of her presence, her laugh that could light up the room, the way she used to bring out the best in him. They had been so in sync, but now it felt like they were living parallel lives, only intersecting when necessary.
The realization struck him one evening as he sat alone in his study, papers scattered across his desk, his mind wandering back to her soft laugh and the way she had looked at him when their bond had first started to grow.
He had been so consumed with everything around them, he hadn't stopped to pay attention to her needs. To her heart.
He couldn't let it continue like this. Not when there was still so much love between them.
That night, as Jisoo sat in the living room, absorbed in her phone, Taehyung quietly stepped out of the room and started making plans. He wasn't going to let this distance continue. He was going to remind her of the man she had married, the one who loved her more than anything else in the world.
The next morning, without a word, he planned a surprise outing. Jisoo was busy with her own thoughts when Taehyung walked in, dressed casually but with a glint of mischief in his eyes.
"We're leaving," he said, his tone leaving no room for argument. "Pack a bag. We're going somewhere."
Jisoo looked up, her confusion evident, but Taehyung had already turned and was walking toward the door. She followed him, curious but unsure of what he was planning. He wasn't a man who liked surprises, so this was new territory for both of them.
When they arrived at their destination...a small, secluded villa by the beach, Jisoo was taken aback by the peaceful serenity of it.
It was nothing like the busy, chaotic world they lived in. The air was crisp, the sound of the waves crashing against the shore almost soothing in its rhythm.
Taehyung smiled as he watched her take it all in, the quiet joy in her expression a balm for his frayed nerves. He reached out, taking her hand and leading her inside.
"I thought we could use a break from everything," Taehyung said, his voice softer now. "Just the two of us. No distractions, no one else. Just us."
Jisoo's heart swelled as she looked at him, seeing the care in his eyes. She hadn't realized how much she needed this, how much they both needed this time away from the world.
As the day wore on, they spent time exploring the area, enjoying the peaceful moments that came with the escape.
They laughed, they talked, and Taehyung couldn't help but notice how her smile seemed brighter here, how the weight she carried seemed to lift a little. The playful side of her that he hadn't seen in so long began to emerge.
The evening was no different. They dined under the stars, the soft glow of the lanterns creating a magical atmosphere. It was then that the pull between them seemed to snap back into place...stronger than ever. The tension, the longing that had been quietly building between them, now made itself known.
Jisoo, still carrying the weight of everything she'd been dealing with, found herself relaxing in a way she hadn't in months. She leaned back, laughing at something Taehyung had said, when their eyes met.
